So here it goes
Captain-165
Bike, Relic Blade
8xSternguard (265)
-4xCombi-Melta's, 2xCombi-Flamer's, Drop Pod
Tactical Squad (255)
PF, Combi-Flamer, Melta, Multi-Melta (It's free  ), Drop Pod
10xScouts (185)
4xSR's, HB, PF, Combi-Flamer, 4xCCW+ BP
8 Bikes w/Attack Bike(315)
PF, 2xMeltaguns, Multi-Melta
10 Assault Marines (240)
Lightning Claws, 2xFlamers, Drop Pod
Land Speeder Storm (60)
Heavy Flamer
2xLand Speeder Typhoon(180)
1xWhirlwind(85)
1750
The scouts obviously are combat squaded and the combat half are transported on the storm. I love the new typhoon rules and put the commander on a bike to give me some more scoring units and so that i could switch a tactical squad to an assault squad.
So what do you guys think?

Well, its a little bit of everything. If you take drop podded units then mount all units into drop pods. Otherwise, the opponent can deal with part of your army before the drop pods arrive.

That's the old paradigm. With the new pod rules, that's not nearly as big a problem.
I like the list. Lots of variety; also lots of flamers and meltas FTW.

All of my foot units, except scouts, are mounted in drop pods. The idea is that if they don't deploy then i drop into an area, create a fire base and slowly squeeze between the fast units and the dropped units. If they do deploy then I get to start the game engaging enemy units and start out a little ahead.
@Mannahnin
Thanks, it's a build i'm thinking about for GT's since it's not focussing on gimmicks or spamming but on coordinating units like marines are meant to do. It'll help the soft score when people see it and I should be able to make it dance. Though the whirlwind is only there because i ran out of fast attack slots

I like the list... I have been thinking about a bike captain for a while and I think you helped decide me.... I was thinking of adding hellfire rounds for the TL bolters though...seems pretty nasty.

There is a synchronization problem. Some units start on the table while others are kept in reserve.

Why have you bought a pod for the assault marines?
With jump packs they can deep strike anyway...

+++'s for pods:
A pod can safely be positioned close enough to the enemy to make flamers worth it.
A pod can contest an objective, as it is a unit, and and an oft overlooked unit at that.

Nice list, too few scoring units, though. If special characters are okay, then substitute your bike captain for a Pedro Kantor knock-off, thus your sternguard will be scoring units,
Edit-oops, nevermind that. You have scoring bikes, ignore me.
Maybe I should read the whole post first.

@Chimera
I swapped out the pod for the packs for 3 reasons.
a)because of the reliability to make sure i can use the flamers and that the squad will be close enough to assault the next turn
b)as stated it can contest enemy objectives and make them waste shots/combat turns destroying it if they want to keep the objective while giving the marines some cover on the drop
c)And it guarentees 2 pod units on the first turn which will also keep the randomness down
@Wuestanfux
It's got one reserve roll per game. Unless i outflank with the scout speeder i only have one unit that i roll for on turn two. One random arrival unit does not a random army make. 2 units can hold as a light anvil to the speed's hammer w/another unit as reinforcements if needed. I guess for those random games where the last unit won't come in till turn 5 this will be an issue but that hasn't happened to me more than once in every 10-15 games so....
@No_such_luck
No problem man, it's why i took the bike captain. The original list had the scouts and 2 podding tac squads with bikes in the fast attack. So i gave the captain a bike and shifted that extra tac squad to a assault squad for more combat oomph (oh and flamer goodness) and kept my 6 possible scoring units.
