I always found it odd that an Inquisitor could take a standard land raider as transport but not a crusader. Not counting tournaments here, would you personally care if someone you played used a crusader or redeemer (new space marine codex rules) at proper point cost as a transport for an inquisitor? My assumption fluff wise is the inquisition can use anything they can get their hands on.

(I'm stupid and didn't read the rules enough and the new land raider was cheaper and cooler so I got it but now I fear not being able to use it)

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

You can always use space marine allies and get it that way, but you'll have to take a couple other things too.

Always 1 on the crazed roll.

You've got that backwards. You could always play Space Marines and use Inquisitorial allies in order to use this combo in a tournament.

As for a personal game with me, of course I wouldn't mind but it is obviously something you're going to have to ask each and every opponent you play just to be sure.

And the rule about having to have a grey knights hero, that's just for heavy support choices right?

Here is my take-

In a friendly game I'm all for your INQ being in a Crusader or Redeemer as his dedicated transport, he just looked at the guy and said "I need that to purify, please hand over the keys"

HOWEVER, in a tournament or competitive game you would not be able to take it as a Deamonhunter list, even with inducted space marines. Here is why-

In the Inq transport section it talks about taking a Land Raider, NOT a Land Raider Crusader or Land Raider Redeemer.

In the allied space marine section it states that you can take a Space Marine Land Raider as an ally (assuming you meet the prerequisites) it does not state that you can take either a Land Raider Crusader or Redeemer.

So here is the funny thing: By taking an allied Space Marine Land Raider you get the updated PotMS, smoke launchers, and searchlight standard. However on the Inq dedicated transport you still have the old PotMS and lack of upgrades.

Until GW comes out with a unified Imperial equipment list (release one more book guys! You'll make some good money and shut up a lot of people!) I'm going to go by the DA codex update and say that you have to stick with the available equipment and stats stated in your codex.

Of course, I could care less in a friendly game!

Come on everyone knows a landraider doesn't have keys! It's got a start button!

I think a DH army could ally a SM Terminator squad with a Redeemer transport.

Really! Expecting people to play by the rules is just sooooooooooooooooooooooo unreasonable.

@asugradinwa: Inquisitorial Land Raiders got the updated PotMS in an FAQ to make it just like the new Space Marine one.

Good to know! Now if only I didn't have to pay extra for the searchlight & smoke launchers.

Only problem is you can't take Terminators as allies in a DH army.
