hi
a few days ago i was playing with my DE against some friends SM.
at some point of the game in my turn, when i was about to shoot with some warris out of my raider, my friends pointed out that i'm not allowed to do that if i have moved more than 6" (is it cruising speed? 7"-12", not really sure as i only have a german rulebook in front of me ).
so if this is true, i can not shoot out of a transport which has moved more than 6", but i can disembark of a transport which has moved up to 12" and still shoot or run or in the case of open topped vehicles even shoot and attack or run and attack?
how dumb is that????

It's correct. It's not dumb either as it's a game mechanic, not a rule based on reality.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

Thats how it goes. If you stay embarked you can't shoot.

I would say it's a bad game mechanic.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

As a game mechanic, it makes perfect sense. In the transport, you have lots of advantages: You can't be shot, you can move faster, etc. So you need a disadvantage, you can't shoot out.

Now, you may not think it matches 'fluff' or 'reality', but as a game mechanic, it makes perfect sense.
