Hello, I'm new to this forum and new to Wh40k, well actually, just the actual game. I've been painting random WH40k minis and reading the books for about nine years, but have yet build an army. (talk about procrastinating ) I plan on building my first one, a "shooty" Space Marine one, of a yet-to-be-determined Chapter, over winter break (When I have an abundance of time and money ). I also Plan on building a 4ft by 6ft "wilderness outpost" themed gaming table, for me and my friends (who are also new the game, and are building their army over winter break) to play on.

I thought about Dark Angel and their successors- Disciples of Caliban, Guardians of the Covenant and the Angels of Absolution. I love their color schemes, but dislike their fluff and therein lies my dilemma- Do I just screw the fluff and go for the Chapter that I like the look of? Or do I go for the chapter that I like the fluff of, but not their look?

to be honest, fluff doesent really matter, its all about looks and play

Go for a chapter you like the fluff of and can bear to paint and look at.

I still think you should play Doom Eagles, since thier name kicks ass.
