Before I go off and buy 2 packs of melta guns from the GW online store, I was wondering: are these a suitable size for guardsmen, or do they only really fit on space marines?
As they are metal I can't really convert them without a lot of pain, so I wondered if anyone else knows if these won't look too huge on guardsmen.

I have done this with guardsmen and it can work, but if you use the wrong arms it will become top heavy. It's best to have them shooting from the hip.

One complications is that there is a space marine hand attached...which is great if you play space marines! If you want to remove this you will need a pair of clippers or a modeling saw. If you have none and are too cheap to purchase some, run down to the nearest GAMES WORKSHOP store (most stores that aren't owned by games workshop won't do this) and they will provide the necessary tools free of charge (but they do NOT provide exacto knifes for safety reasons)

Also, when ordering the weapon pack, you can have it shipped to the Games Workshop store without any shipping costs. Just talk to a redshirt about it and they'll help you out.

I used them 7 or 8 years ago for IG and they worked alright, just trimmed back the hand.

As has been said before... shoot from the hip, they look ridiculous held out by one arm.

I got three meltaguns from my friend that i wanted for my SoB, the only thing i could do since the sisters are whole chunks of metal was to cut of the barrel of three flamers and glue the meltabarrel to it so you shouldnt have any problem getting it right
