yes they are i have a small idea for an army of them but i doubt it will ever reach past the planning stage much like re doing my tau, still ive always found the best option is every unit mounted in a vehicle, so more trukks, battlewagons/looted wagons are a must, i dont know why but i just think bikes arent that great in any army unless prehaps eldar, still if you want to go for the bike option Wazdakka is a must IMO

not too many heavies - cost too many points. Lots and lots of mobs in trucks (6 i think) and lots of bikes (all fast attacks taken uo by them). use that special character on a bike (a model 4 him may come out in december/jan). fast attack = looted vehicles.

also to add, i've been trying to find a way to convert Tau tanks into looted wagons, it may be a crazy option but the thought of orks nabbing tau stuff seems a funny idea, to me at least...

funny? The Tau don't look kindly on that, though an ork stickin' out of of a rail gun is strangely compelling..

nice 2k army, plenty of speed, but costs a little bit more than the average army lo.

I too have wondered about this, for both Tau and Eldar. Fluffwise and logicwise it seems ok, the orks have looted a severely damaged Tau/Eldar tank which can no longer 'fly' but can still barely levitate enough to stay inches off the ground and move, possibly helped by some wheels and auxilary engines added by a mek.

Making it open-topped isn't as easy, coz Tau/Eldar tech is a bit more flash than just covering everything in armour plate . Maybe the answer is a whole new crew compartment riveted over the gaping hole left from the mek repairs or battle damage. And/or don't show any interior, instead add vertical armour plates and rails to the outer rim of the Tau/Eldar tank, i.e. the whole top of the original model becomes the floor of the new crew compartment

fair enough, ill play nice, as long as you do, to be honest, i would go in the direction of heavies for the schools league, so you have less models to worry about, but for the rest of the force (outside of the schools league), fill out with trukks, deffkoptas and boyz

a nice thought to remember is that, say with wazdakka, is that rather than putting him in a unit of bikes, why not put him with deffkoptas, he can coz hes an independant character, plus you get the extra firepower of the twin linked rokkit launchas, however the bad thing about this is that the unit can oly move as fast as its slowest model, so rather than moving like jet bikes (deffkoptas), they would all have to move like normal bikes, but i reckon its worth it...

if you google images of orks you can find some pics of looted battlesuits for dreds and they look really awesome. i would say go with CC boyz in trukks. (and dont be cheap, pay for the grot riggors) that way they also move pretty good, run into some enemy squads, dump da boyz! and tie up the front line of the army with boys while you rush all your speedies into the fray!
