Ok, if you havent seen my 1st thread, long story short; i got bored, decided i wanted a nurgle daemon prince, but wanted something different.
the whole model is green stuff built over the base of an ogre bull.
only other items used include:
Genestealer claws (teeth)
plasticard (sword)
horn / spike (sword handle)
the rest of the model is pure green stuff and too much spare time.
work left to do:
create some skin patches on the model.
add boils and other afflictions.
add some scraps of armour and finish the shoulder pad trim.
possibly a tongue.
paint him up.
i dont think ive missed anything, so here are the pics;
The model should be finished in the next few days.

Just a suggestion, give it a really dark, dirty paintjob with lots of blood matted in the fur and running down from the fangs. It looks like something that the band Gwar would use as a mascot, when it's not busy eating groupies and roadies.

OK, last pics as a green.
tomorrow i can get started with the painting. Finished up all the parts needed, decided 1 shoulder pad is enough since i dont want to cover up the MON on his right soulder.
here he is in all his glory before he gets painted (finally)
hope you enjoyed it up to now, since chances are my painting will ruin it

You've taken the hardest steps so far. Just getting your hands on the materials and learning how to manipulate it into SOMETHING that is close to your original idea.
For your future sculpts, I'd highly suggest working from some sort of source material (sketch, photo etc.) and really try and stick to it.
I really should get back to the sculpting.

You've changed your little icon thingy. I was confused, and thought someone had stole your idea down to the last detail. Anyway, good luck with the painting.

On topic, it looks awesome. It made me feel cosy inside (or maybe that was the bile from the plague it was spreading) because somehow it made me think back to when I was researching Nurgle for a friend's army. The whole 'grandfather' Nurgle - caring, but don't forget, he will eat your babies.

"And what is wrong with their life? What on earth is less reprehensible than the life of the Levovs?"
- American Pastoral, Philip Roth
Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags. |
