In the orky world do you think it is possible to accept orks with big shootas as a squad of lootas, if the army does'nt have any other big shootas in it.
my oppenent last night had a squad and said that he was allowed to use them in the grand torny.

It's a bit lame, I'd think. I don't have the new Ork Codex ut they're the ones who are supposed to have stolen weapons and such from other armies, right? (That would make the name make some sense...) Is it that hard to take some plastic Boyz and equip them with spare bolters/lasguns/whatever acquired from your friends?

I'd say no.. if you want to abuse the 45 loota list, go out and buy the damn things

id say if they had a bunch of random stolen weapons from other armies then sure. because yea they steal things thats what they do. but if you went that route id deffinetly say you need to make the guns seem more orky then just a bolter or gauss weapon.

if I was playing orks and wanted a bunch of lootas I think that's what I'd do: Buy Boyz, and outfit them almost comically with tons of stuff from other kits. I know I've got some random bits from Space Marines, ImpGuard, and Sisters... Maybe even do one with a Tyranid gun if I felt so inclined.

If I was really motivated I'd get creative and do a Loota being attacked by his Tyranid Gun, wearing a ImpGuard helmet comically stacked on top of his huge head, loaded down with a dozen Lasguns, using tank wheels as shoulder armor, haulign a couple gas cans, etc.

If he modified the big shootas to look like they where "looted" and re-built weapons they ya, other wise he is just a lazy bastard.


Thats the great part about Orks, with a little work a box of Boyz can be turned it to just about anything :p

Nope. Lootas have deff-guns. Not big shootas. Be prepared in any tournament situation with people outside your area being invited to not do it.

Big shootas are lame. Deff gunz rock. Make the big shootas into deff guns by gluing various leftover weapons to them. Then you can rock, too!

A box of lootas comes with 10 lootas....here is how. Convert the burnas to Looted weapons. then add them to another boy somewhere. Done

My lootas use a bunch of imperial weapons I traded around for so they actually look looted. If you want to use big shootas you'll have to do some conversions to make it work. Remember that with all things orky bigger guns are always better.

Sounds like the ork players is a combination of cheap and lazy. Buy the proppa minis or convert them, it's really not that difficult as many have already pointed out.

Lootas all have looted heavy weapons from other races. If you are making your own they better be wielding bright lances and other ridiculous packs of dakka.
