It is alleged she doctored her expenses claims.
I can't see how a proper investigation could be finished before the election, though. There would be all kinds of accusations of bias flying around.

In recent Times/Wall St polls, voters listed Palin above farking Bush as reasons to not vote for McCain. What a trainwreck of a pick~!

Biden routed over $2MM to his family via jobs and contracts. Do we really haev to go down this road continuously.
I care about who's going to make the trains run on time, not who bought an extra bottle of booze on the corporate card.

Unfortunately I've seen internal support numbers for her as high as 90%. I fear that the GOP is going to quickly see itself transform into a party of Social Populism. This is especially true if Obama wins in a landslide and the GOP intelligentsia jump ship to the Dems, or worse, make a run at reinventing the Libertarians into Reaganite traditionalists.

If it gets the current bunch of incumbents out it can't be bad. They say the first step to the road of recovery is recognizing you have a problem. I took great joy in voting for no incumbents except a local commisioner who got the district off its duff and started collecting heavy trash early after Ike. All politics is local baby.

I would not be shocked if the GOP splinter into two 'parties' by Obamas second term. I wish I was a better person...but watching Rove politics drive the GOP into the canyon and the Kristol crowd chewing their own legs off.....well I get tingles.

Be careful what you wish for. A government ruled by one party is not a representative government. It is Mexico in the PRI years.
The democrats will have 180 days to do something. After that the tide changes. Effective equilibrium inthe last century has been a divided executive and legislative.
up, or just act like Congress is doing now, and the love affair with the Democratic Party will end in 2010.

I didn't state that I wanted a one party government. I said that the GOP will splinter with it's more reasonable members becoming 'new Republicans' while the Rovian/fundamentalist faction will wither...and I can't help but feel extreme satisfaction watching it happen.

I think that, between internal Republican warfare and the colossal malpractice that is the current Neocon administration, the Dems will get considerably more time to prove themselves. 2012 will probably be a lot like GHW's loss; with the Dems coming out ahead on the bleed of Republican voters to the Libertarians and other Third Parties.

The Republican split/reassessment has been coming for some time. Colin Powell and Christopher Buckley are just more warning shots across the bow. It may be similar to when some Democrats switched to Republicans in the 60's.
When the only way a Republican can be a viable candidate is to betray their moderate, more popular stances, like McCain, there is a trouble a-brewing. Really it is a no win situation for him. If he doesn't placate the radical right they threaten to form a third party, if he goes for their vote he becomes a flip-flopping candidate. I would have rather seen him stick to his pre-presidential candidate positions and alienate some of the base while picking up more undecideds then the way his campaign has tried to use the GWB playbook.

Oh snap, that's something I would expect to find on 4chan.
On the same note, I'm a Missouri resident which means I've been flooded with robocalls/mailers/advertisements in the last week. The other day I received a mailer from McCain/GOP that had 'TERRORIST?' on the outside. When you flipped open the inside it had a large picture of Obama and a small picture of Ayers. Now what I found most disturbing in this mailer was how 'black' they made Obama look. Someone had obviously used photoshop to darken his skintone, as he looked like a burnt match. Pretty pathetic.

All of which are among many many others, and all of which are much greater reads on Obamas sad outlook on America compared to.....some expense reports....

The TIMES??? Are you serious? A times poll goes like this:
"Hey Bob you like Obama?"
"Yeah"
"How about you John"
"Yeah"
"Cool looks like Obama is winning."
They would poll their own asses if it made Obama look good.

You miss the point. Those thing don't matter to many of us because we think they are indicative of the correct image of the American position in world/domestic affairs. McCain isn't losing because of media coverage. He's losing because most people think he, and the GOP, are simply not ideologically suited to the current crisis.
Also...Joe McCarthy should have been publicly executed.
Not really, it just makes me feel better when I say/type that.

Come on you are making this too easy.
Look at his myspace! He is as white as Biden!!!
And as a side note they do this on purpose, both sides. They do it with Oprah and other AA celebrities on mag covers because it apparantly sells better to white mothers.
EDIT: Dogma - trust me, people who are comforted by all the above listed things are America haters to begin with and are in a huge minority.
I dont trust polls, I will let the day decide. No one is winning until the voting booth closes.

I couldnt disagree more and that is your opinion.
Its all about perspective and context. Most people who vote and will vote have my perspective.
And dont give me "the kiddies are coming." True unbiased polls have shown ages 18-24 making no more of a show this year then ever before.
