Subject: Question about assault terminators

Stalwart Ultramarine Tactical Marine

I want to get some assault terminators for my Ultramarines. Is their anyway to assault with these guys in turn one? Is their any way to assault with them and not take a turn of shooting without using a land raider or great position?
Thanks.

Captain Counts-as-Shrike. He joins them, they scout 12 inches away, Assault Turn 1.

But the scout rule says that in the scout move you have to maintain a distance of over 12 inches, besides where does it say that terminators can scout? Shrike gives infiltrate to units that he is with not scout.
However with fleet you could potentially land 18 inches away move six, run six and then with fleet assault six inches so I guess it is possible if you have a very keen eye. Thanks!
If I am wrong please clarify.

technically yopu have to be "more than" 18 or 12. the only sure fire way to get a first turn assault is "more than 18" with jump infantry.
Start 19 away, move 12 run 1, assault 6.
Short of a Land-Raider and captain "counts-as-khan" to outflank. i don't see it happening with Termies.
do bear in mind though that Storm shields are now a 3+ invulnerable against shooting, so you should be able to suck up 1 turn of fire. Even if your opponent goes nuts and throws everything at them. And... if he does, it leaves the rest of your army unscathed to do their thing.

There is pretty much 2 ways to do it both involving Shrike.
Shrike Infiltrates them out of LOS with in 12 inches of a enemy model. Move, Fleet , Assault.
2nd requires marginal luck with set up and rolling on fleet.
Shrike is in the army and they are in a Land Raider, move 12 , fleet, Assault. If you move properly and set up at the fullest you can assault turn 1.

I didn't think you could infiltrate within 12 no matter what.. thus 12.0001 inches out of sight, swing around a corner on your move, fleet, assault. Difficult to anyone who knows the pony in question, and understands when you tell them Counts-As-Shrike is joining a Terminator Squad, then infiltrating.

Infiltrating terminators is silly.
Can you imagine that?

Kinda.
I'd take a shock and awe unit: 10 Assault Termies deep striking in front of the enemy.

If I were to do this, and I might just try it sometime, I would get little camo nets and drape them over the terminator models. And model one termi with lightning claws making the "shhhh" gesture.
One sad thing I noticed is that you can not give jump packs to the Command squad Shrike lets you take (unless I missed something.) You can give them bikes, however, so you could attach them to Shrike and still move 12". It is just sort of funny that you take the command squad as a seperate unit, then attach Shrike to some random assault squad.

I don't think the bikes benefit from his fleet though so it kind of sucks.

Khan on his bike can... so you could make a unit of Shrike+Khan+Something disposable... scout move 12" away, move 12, fleet, assault.
Which would actually be a pretty nasty two man unit begging for a few lascannon shots on turn two... 12" move, Fleet, Furious Charge, Hit And Run... Yeesh!
