I've been looking at the endless possibilities for an Inquisitorial retinue and after picking my own, (6 crusaders, 2 Chirurgeon, 2 sages, 1 familiar and an acolyte with carapace armour and a combi bolter) I wondered how everybody else picks their retinue.

Inquisitor with daemon hammer, 3 Warriors with power fists, 3 Acolyth with storm shields, Sage, Familiar.

Inquisitor (Elite) w/ Bolter, Acolyte w/ Bolter, Bolters Repentia (Heavy Weapons Servitor w/ Heavy Bolter) x3, Sister Hospitaller x2

Inquisitor lord w/. Combi-Stake crossbow, psychic hood, 3 acolytes/ combi-stake crossbows.

Gives a whole board coverage psychic hood, and can nail a psyker if they get one to shoot at. If they don't, then I can still take an assassin an it's not too much of a points loss for 4 bolter shots.

Two sages ONLY.

And give the Inquisitor a Psycannon and a psychic hood only.

He is then BS 5 with a reroll to hit, and a fire support unit, with a backup function supressing enemy psychic powers.

Sorry model collector, you're only allowed three of the same type of retinue members (3 warriors, 3 sage, 3 familiars etc.)
So 6 crusaders is out I'm afraid.

Gotta love 'em though. My inquisitor lord never leaves home without his two crusaders (+ combat servitor w/pf, + acolyte with brazier) maybe a familiar,
He's got a buddy inquisitor with servitor+multimelta and two sages for +1BS and a re-roll for the BS3 multimelta.

Never does them any good though, they have NEVER won

Elite DH Inquisitor, psychic hood, dual mystics, dual heirophants (for that +2LD). If points allow Emperor's Tarot, psycannon/combi-stake crossbow.

Mystic (3)
Sage (3)
Acolyte (1)

I've had so much fun recently, Baneblades left right and centre killing deepstriking units.
Plasma Cannon lol haha is great with reroll scatter.
Oh dear 10 invulnerable saves and 2 armour saves on that deepstriking terminator squad. NICE!

Mystic, Mystic, Mystic, Psychic Hood.

I often run a DH Inq. Lord w/ Psycannon, 2x Sages, 2x Mystics, 2x Bolter servitors, 1x Plasma Cannon Servitor, topped off with familiars as points are available. Expensive, but really really nasty firepower.

Also often use a elite DH Inq. w/ 2x mystics positioned right next to a Demolisher or Vindicator.

Hood, Psycannon, Plasma Cannon, 2 * Plasma Gun, 2 * Mystics and 2 * Sage. I drop the Sages from plain Inquisitors and add in an Acolyte instead to counter the one less wound.
