Here is my army list, the CF and IF after the fig is what color scheme they will be. Tear this one apart for me guys!

This army was made in all of like 30 mins. I didn't put much thought into it at all. I want a Primarly shooty type army. I play orcs as my first army, and I like the color scheme to both armies, little did i know at that time, that CF hates orcs, and CF is a son of the IF army. So that makes this army even cooler like i said though, just tear this army list apart for me and give me some tips! thanks!

no reason for flamers and melta guns on your sternguards you have bolter ammo that does same thing as them combi melta is the only real choice for sternguards

I think that honor guard are wasted in a shooty army, and that Lysander is best when in a large group of terminators, as he allows re rolls for bolter shooting.

Also, I'd take heavy weapons for your tac squads.

Alrighty... drop the flamers and plasma guns on the Sternguard. That negates their whole advantage! Give them combi-meltas if you want, but leave it at that.

I personally think Lysander goes great with Sternguard, as he allows them to re-roll hits with bolters.

Kantor goes with the Honor Guard, as he gives them +1 attack.

That second Tac squad needs to be ten man for it to get the free flamer.

Seamus is absolutely right about the stergard, and it makes them absolute marine killers.

8/9*1/2= 4/9 kills against marines. The usual donwside of losing a sterguard for every 18 shots is negated by lysander who reduces the chances to 1 in every 108 shots.

and seamus, that second tac squad DOES have 10 men

I'd drop the Honour Guard and beef up the Sternguard. Give the Sternguard a Rhino.

I should probably read things more carefully. I thought it said "5 Marines", not "+5 Marines."

well, i discussed this list over with 2 of my friends who are really big marines. this is what we ended up with. some things are on the top of my head, so i apoligize, but the basic list is this

hq:
kantor
master of the forge
honor guard, kinda beefy

2 sternguard, at about 300pts a pop
2 tacs that are AoBR reaches
3 dreads are 170, with 3 drop pods with the weapon system up grade
1 drop pod for the stern with the system upgrade
4 drop pods, 2 for tacs, 1 for other stern, and one for kantor and honor guard. all with basic storm bolter

this list is about 1850. again, i apoligize for not having exact point cost. i have to be up early for work, so there is no time to right this down, and we were eating when we were discussing this list, lol. so hopefully tomorrow i will get a pointed up list. thanks for the feed back guys!

That's a pretty nasty list. However, I'd drop the Honour Guard and replace it by an Ironclad.
