So I'm normally in the Off-Topic or 40K threads but I'm getting back into WHF after many years (and editions off). I'm looking at trying to get back into the game with an ultra-fast not your run of the mill Daemon army. So I'm looking at Slanneshi Daemons.

My question is this - I want to field a large number of Seekers but the wife is playing the "40K/WHF is too expensive game." So I need to do this on ehte cheap. I have 25 spiders from my old OG army. I want to take the Daemonettes and cut them in half then mount (sts) the body onto the spider body, kind of like a dryder from DnD. Would anyone have a problem with this?

It's relatively cheap since I've got quite a few boxes of Daemonettes plus I'd end up with a rather large faction of Seekers for my army (I could also use them in 40K). Would this be a "counts as thing" or would folks have issues with it.

Before y'all say it... I know the limitations of Slanneshi daemons but WHF is a game of manuever warfare first. When my base troop march moves 12" and my Cav can move 20" my opponent is going to have issues.

Let me know.

As long as it is on the correct base size I would be fine with it.

Sounds like a good conversion.

I would just try to make the army look uniform so if you do intend to make them spider riders, Give the entire army a spider feel to make them fit in more. Other than that there is no problem converting your models as long as your opponents know what they are before the game begins.

I agree with the preceding. It sounds like a good conversion, and will be even cooler if you carry the spider theme through other parts of the army.

You will eventually find that any Daemon army (even Slaanesh) doesn't participate as richly in the manuever game as other armies, since you can't flee from charges.

Yes but you have access to some really nice units that can redirect or tarpit a unit for a one two puch knock out.

I have played Slaanesh Daemons for some where close to 5 years now and I can safely say they have bee the most tactically pleasing army I have ever played with, also one of the most dangerous if your opponent does not know how to deal with them.

Lord Erik, Mannahnin & Negativemoney...thanks for the responses...I'm going to really try and keep the arachnid theme throughout the army build where possible. The sheer number of Nurgle and Khorne list here locally in Vegas made me want to field something else.

The guy who was kind of doing the Sensei thing with me and WHF started me out with Rats. The Rats were okay but I started out my WHF with a Chaos Warband. So I switched to Tomb Kings and I started seeing success right away.

Out of about 20 games with the TK I finished around 70% wins. But my losses were huge...it was really an all or nothing army. So my bud, Elliot, decided to sit down and decide what army fits my playing style.

I like fast agressive and hard hitting...Chaos and Demons...so we decided to look into the Demons (but I'm going to slowly build up Warriors of Chaos...to good to pass up they are). So the Slanneshi Demons seem to pit the bill.

The only downside to Slaaneshi demons is they are a little fragile so I'll need to ensure the all combats are with 2-3 of my MSUs vs a single enemy unit.
