figured i might aswell run a test mini before going into this too much.
tried going for the old school flames, but i think i will tone them down and blend them more to remove alot of the red.
things like bones havent been added to this yet, with the exception of his hands.
quickly added some damage and bullet holes before painting.

its not good, but this is a rough test untill tomorrow when i can finish it up and go ito more detail.






so, thats the base for it, will update tomorrow once its sorted.
doesent help that i had to use my GF's cam since mine is broken.

Nah... Paint's a bit think, especially around the face, but not to bad for a test scheme. Instead of painting the backs of the hands white, you might try white lines to match up with the hand bones more.

I dig the flames. I'd keep doing those they way you are.

the white and silver are thick as the paints are about to die (left out too long)
once i get some new paints (and water them down a little) i can do a better job.

ive now decided to use the hand ideas, i was thinking its drawing too much to it, a black model with huge white areas doesent sit too well.

you sure about the flames? they were a 5 min rush job.

The flames are more blending than I ever do, so to me at least, they're rather quite good. And given I'm a bit of a pyro, the flames in general just tend to look cool to me.

I agree that the paint is a bit thick and gloopey. I know that's how GW skull white is, but to counter it you could try thinning the paint a bit and doing multiple coats. Or putting down another color like elf flesh then doing white over that. Otherwise, I like the scheme.

lol, the ammount of time i spend around fire my flame painting should be the best
but instead i try and take shortcuts

i think ill try and blend it more, see what happens.

yojimbo, as i said above mate, paints are dying and i need new ones
once i can get new ones i can layer the paint, rather than try layering it and it looks like that

I'd go for a free handed skull motif on the faceplate instead of painting it solid white.

I also agree with painting the 'bones' on the back of the hand.

Nah, I don't care for the way the skulls on those guys is done. And the flames are too much, over killed it.

ill have to give this a go, never tried painting free hand, but theres a 1st time for everything.
ill shave off the skull on his head 1st as that will get in the way.
