well landraiders are always a nice choice. they can take a beating and just shoot the poop out of pretty much anything. i personally dont have one but i have played against them alot and they piss me off everytime. or you could go with another dev squad.

When I am building my armies I generaly look at a few things in no particular order. Which opponents do I plan on playing against and what are their perceived strengths and weaknesses? What other units am I already fielding in my army, and do I need to balance things out or add more kick to a particular area? What do the models look like and will I enjoy building and painting them? Do I personally feel that the unit fits in my army and matches the fluff as I see it?

If I were in your position I think I would look first at things such as what weapons my devastators are carrying? What supporting heavy weapons are in my tactical squads? What sort of loadout is my Predator equipped with? If your current heavy support is mostly anti-infantry then you may want to utilize your last HW slot for an anti-tank unit such as the Land Raider or perhaps a lascannon/plasma cannon devastator squad. On the other hand if you are fairly set up for anti-tank then a Whirlwind or Vindicator would be in order. If you are facing hordes of orks, a few Whirlwinds or devastators carrying 4 heavy bolters/missile launchers can be a lot of fun.

As I like the look of the model I almost always take a Vindicator as I am less interested on if it will make its points back and more interested in the way it looks and the response it generally garners in my opponents. My other heavy support is usually a Land Raider of one sort or another. I also am looking seriously at taking a devastator squad armed with 4 plasma cannons.

Well, Dev's are good for anti-infantry these days as they carry long range weapons. If you take a Predator then (spam it) take two.
