Subject: Nurgle CSM 1800, input?

Just looking for feedback on this 1800 pt army. I chose Greater Daemon over Chaos Dreadnought, is this wise?
Summoned Greater Daemon
Greater Daemon of Nurgle w/ Flight and Warptime
Possessed Marines w/ Nurgle Icon x5 with Rhino
Plague Marines x7 w/ 2 meltagun in Rhino
Plague Marines x7 w/Huron Blackheart in Rhino
Plague Marines x7 w/ 1 meltagun and Plague Champion in Rhino
Defiler w Reaper Autocannon and Havoc Launcher
Predator /w Twin Link Lascannon and Lascannon Sponson. With Daemonic Possesion.
Vindicator /w Havoc Launcher and Daemonic Possesion.
I've tested this against Thousand CSM and did pretty good, but the guy quit after turn three because I took over the left side of the warzone, which had two objectives.

A Chaos Dread is very unpredictable. I always roll bad so that this damn thing has to shoot the closest unit.
I'd drop the Possessed, as they are too unpredictable, too, and replace them by a winged Deamon Prince with MoN.

Ok I don't think this is a very good list. Here is why. If your one Plague Champ gets killed your Summoned Greater Demon isn't coming onto the table. Huron Blackheart isn't very good for what he costs. Defilers, predators, and Vindis aren't as versatile/good as a bunch of Obliterators. Possessed aren't very good and an expensive icon on a 5 man squad does not a good unit make, not to mention the rhino they're in. I'd say drop the Greater Demon, drop Huron, drop the possessed, drop the Pred/Defiler/Vindi and add Another Demon prince with wings and warptime, bump all your Plague Marines up to 10 man squads (I know, no fluffy number sue me), add as many oblits in that will fit. If you have points left give a champ to each plague marine unit w/ a powerfist.

Wow, a lot of changes, good changes too, to be honest the only reason I don't use Obliterators is I don't have any yet, but that'll be on my list next. I agree with the Greater Daemon, I just found it less predictable then the Dreadnought. No armor at all though? or drop one of them? I have two Daemon princes so I will do that. Any consideration on Terminators how well does Typhus play? (Sorry for all the questions, I'm a Daemon player and I just got into Chaos Marines). Thanks for input.

Greater demon is better than a chaos Dread. If you have two demon princes, then you should run 2 with Mark of nurgle, wings and warptime. They are amazing and the best HQ choices for their points.
As for chaos terminators, give them combi weapons and deep strike them. It works like a charm.

Land Raiders are just generally pretty hard from any army book. Lesser demons are good for deep striking on to objectives no one is gunning for and hoping they can hold their ground. As for the questions from earlier. Nope no armor, oblits are just too good to pass up for armor. The only armor I ever suggest for a CSM list are Rhinos. Typhus is meh to good depending on the list. Terminators are pretty cheap in the CSM codex. If you don't want to shell out crazy stupid money for a ton of oblits just use some GW and a box of termies and a box of chaos spawn. Get some extra weapon bits from your bitz box or your friends and make some oblits. Green stuff on some torsos of Chaos spawn on to termies and vice versa than add the weapons and your good to roll out and destroy some people with some good ole oblits for a fraction of the cost. I'd suggest if you do it that way though that you make 9 oblits. Just in case you ever end up playing in a meta of Land Raider spam. To be honest it could happen then you'll be happy you have oblit spam to counter.

Hi,
A few points about your list,
I stopped using defilers a while ago as they died in the first couple of turns in most games i played.
Obliterators are really good in units of 2 or 3, not in 1's though as they become an easy kill point in annihilation games.
Dreadnoughts are no more survivable than a defiler (though are less of an obvious target) and i only ever use them with a close combat weapon configuration.
Gmort.

If you are running a nurgle list, you probably should not use Land Raiders. I have to agree with typeline on this, you should just taker obliterators. As for lesser demons, I have found them very helpful in claiming objectives and surprising the enemy with their ability to assault on the deepstrike.

They can assault on deepstrike? I play daemons and I din't know they can do that, it just says follow Deepstrike rule. This changes everything if it's the case.

Lesser Daemons can assault when they deep strike, Daemons in a normal army cannot assault the turn the deep strike.
As for you list, go with more troops.
Drop Huron Blackheart, Predator, Defiler and bump all Plague Marines up to 10 men, with champions. Make sure all PM squads have 2 Melta or Plasma to make me worthwhile, and throw in a Icon or two.
With left over points buy some lesser daemons.

With assault with deepstrike, I have a ton of Lesser Daemons because I am a primary Daemon player, how smart is it to go more troop option using lesser daemons?

lesser daemons pretty much suck... their only purpose is to either die or hold onto an objective, or be a distraction. I don't really like any of those. you'd be better off using terminators and icons, using them to summon small squads. just my 0.02$

Not a fan of Lesser Daemons.
Small squads die too easily and large squads are too expensive for what they do.
A Greater Daemon on the other hand i have seen used to good effect though personally the random element (combined with the fact that you have to kill a champion to summon them) puts me off them slightly.
