It has a custom cast resin base painted like a Wraithbone terrace with a red rhinestone.

Looks great, very dynamic. Also, kudo's on the painting, takes a lot of effort I reckon. Also, love the base, but not so much a fan of the stone, I would have set another one in, but I guess thats just personal taste...
Great work!

Where do you get the farseery/warlocky heads?
Do you just saw them apart from metal 'locks, or is there another source of a separate head somewhere?

Hey thanks, I like the composition, he is a big Asterisk actually, I wanted him to look like an explosion (geometry wise) and I like that part a lot!
Honestly on the paint job, I think this mini was a failure. I like the Yellow and green, but the Ivory not as much, also some of the coloration on the sword is not as clean as I could have made it, I used some glazing shortcuts after I painted in the diamonds on the jacket and I got a little lost with colors to use.
Overall I like it though. I like the composition better than the paint job myself.

Oh, also I usually base my Harlequins on a common holiday color scheme, this one is Mardi Gras, yellow Green and purple.

Yup, I saw them off of the warlock/seer bodies, I have an entire graveyard of headless warlocks and farseers, it's a very sad bits box because I have no idea what one could use the bodies for....
...and in 4th it just kept growing and growing and growing, I did no less than 4 seer councils this way, one on jetbikes, one exodite style on cold ones, one on foot, and another 2 On jetbikes for my friends army. Eek, for a while I could find the old warlocks locally in single or double blisters from long ago but not anymore...

I think the head's from Eldrad, along with the staff and the sword.... the body from the 'quin troupe leader and legs from the hawk exarch? Sound right?
My question: Where'd you get the backpack vanes?
Looks very nice, clean convertion and very original. The ivory in the color scheme actually complements the yellow, pink and green, providing a neutral tone that contrasts the more vibrant shades. Total win in my opinion. If you're not happy with the paint job, I'll take him off your hands!

I think the vanes are from a wraithlord- am I right?
I think this model is pretty great. I love how the angle in the first picture makes him look like he's in mid-air.
Great job.

Close they are from a Falcon turret.

The only thing I would say is paint the holding rod a neutral colour without any inking. I recommend a dflat grey. It looks like it is part of the model which of course it isnt.

This looks pretty nice. Wonderful conversion, and a good paint job on him to boot.
If I were to criticize him (and I'm not sure that's necessary, as this is quite good) I kind of wish that the base was a little more elaborate to hide the rod a little more. It is a nice base, but the lack of any flocking or bushes or anything make the rod show up more than it should.
Also, the Stone on the base looks out of scale a bit (mostly because it isn't painted).
At this point, I don't think it is wise to change it though. It looks wonderful, and the strengths of this mini more than pull it off.

Good criticism, I agree. The stick was actually suppose to be black, I missed it, which is embarasing actually.
Also the base looks funny in a vacuum. It was done with an army of like modeled bases to match a scenic display board which was a big Eldar terrace finished in like schemes, on that, it looks good, in a vacuum, it seems odd, it's one of the things that I would probably change on this model in adition to the poor work on the sword.
Overall I do like it, but some more careful work would take this from good to excellent methinks.
I was considering pulling the mini off the base entirely and doing something else, like a more traditional blasted earth and snow cork wood built up base, or maybe even a dead model underneath with the character leaping over it...
I don't know if I have the heart to dismantle it or not though at this point.

I'd leave the base as is, possibly replacing or even painting over the gem, if that's possible.
