Found out recently about gw's clearout of ALL back catalogues, getting rid of all old models and any semblance of charachter with it. When did this happen? Why? I Know this will have been covered before, but it just seems depressing to me.
All the best GW games are obsolete (blood bowl, necromunda) and where am i going to get my squats now eh?

They stopped doing the back catalogues some years ago. You used to be able to walk into a GW store and look at catalogues going back years and order from them (I don't think Squats were even available then though). Then some bean counter decided it wasn't worth it. Now they offer the odd thing online, and the "classic" range is hardly what I'd call classic, it's just stuff from a couple of years ago. Perhaps I'm getting old, but when I think of "classic" I'm thinking of stuff from the early 90s and earlier, not just the metal figures they've recently replaced with plastics.

They don't stock any more really old stuff. They used to have them in a strongroom in eastwood, but it was costing more for storage than they made. So they scrapped the old master moulds for all the 52mm judge dread, old lotr, old WH etc

In fairness they could never reproduce the Judge Dredd stuff because of licencing. Do we know for a fact that they broke up the moulds?

Yeah classic is beaky marines and squats. Noticed the price of classic models has shot up. So the moulds all destroyed then? I should sell my "elven attack chariot" on ebay.
