I don;t have a space wolf codex but I was just kind of wondering if anyone found a resource that fully lists what they get out of the new marine codex and what they do not.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Not sure if this is YMTC thread.

Anyways Units:
-Landspeeders (and all varients/options per FAQ)

-Dreadnought (and all varients/options EXCEPT Venerable per FAQ)
-Preditor (and all varients/options per FAQ)
-Vindicator (and all varients/options per FAQ)
-Whirlwind (and all varients/options per FAQ)

-Drop Pods (and all varients/options per FAQ except SW determines which units can ride)
-Note: Up to one SW scout squad may be equiped per the entry in Codex SM

Wargear:
-Note: Use Codex SW for points cost and to determine which units can purchase these items.
-Power Fists
-Chain Fists
-Power Weapons
-Thunder Hammers
-Lightning Claw(s)
-Bolter
-Bolt Pistol
-Close Combat Weopon is referenced in Chainswords of Combat Knifes
-Combi-Bolters (all)
-Plasma Pistols
-Storm Bolters
-Storm Shields
-Space Marine Bikes
-Jump Packs
-Frag Grenades
-Krak Grenades
-Melta Bombs
-Servo-Arm
-Master Crafted Weopons
-Dozer Blade
-Extra Armour
-Hunter-Killer Missle
-Search Light
-Smoke Launchers
-Pintle Mounted Storm Bolter is referenced in Storm Bolters
-Runic Armour follows rules for Artificer Armour
-Runic Weapon follows rules for Force Weapon
-Great Company Banner follows rules for Chapter Banner
-Runic Staff follows rules for Psychic Hood

-Auspex, Bionics, Fang of Morkai, Wolf-Totem no longer work as there is no rules or references to these items.

The following items are in LIMBO IMHO as they don't point back to Codex SM and are lacking in rules:
-Rhinos (SW lists the pts but not the rules )
-Razorbacks (SW lists the pts but not the rules )
-Terminator Armour (Points listed but there is no Terminator Armour entry in the "SPACE WOLVES WARGEAR" page even though it is not italicized in the Armoury...just a notation in the summary page)
-Assault Cannons for Terminators (SW lists the pts but the reference sheet cites the 3rd Edition Ruleset )

Erm, if the item's stats aren't listed, you use C: SM, yes? So Rhinos, Razorbacks, and Terminator armor aren't a problem. (Although, oddly, they can buy options that they already have...) Assault cans still jam, though!

Assault cannons specifically say see the 40K rulebook for their special rules. The current 40K rulebook says they rend. So assault cannons do rend, but are stuck at heavy 3, unless purchased on a landraider, landspeeder, or dreadnaught in which case they follow the rules from the codex they are purchased through which is heavy 4, rending.

Okay, this lack of backwards compatibility for wargear just reached a whole new level of stupid. Not only do similar wargear/weapons (i.e. assault cannons) not work the same from army to army, but now these similar wargear/weapons have different rules within the army itself.

I knew there was a reason I haven't even looked at my Space Wolf dex since the latest incarnation of SM. Poor doggies.

Ha, have fun explaining that to your opponent.

No, see on this vehicle we got the AC from the blue space marines, however on that vehicle the AC was built by the viking space marines.

So obviously the blue AC is better than the Viking AC. I don't see what is so difficult about this...

Personally I don't see why GW ever tried to implement forwards compatability with these codices, It never worked smoothly, and it's only gotten worse, I would have just said "no, you're codex Space Wolves codex works with 3rd edition space marines, keep using it or use the new generic marines dex but play generic marines.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Statistically, 4 out of 42 items/units isn't so bad, just thier common use makes it pretty annoying.

No, see on this vehicle we STOLE the AC from the SMURFS, however on that vehicle the AC was built by the viking space marines.

So obviously the SMURF AC is better than the Viking AC. I don't see what is so difficult about this...
