right then guys my latest project involves a load of undead orks (40k) but before i start work on the fluff i need to ask your guys a few questions.
1. would it be possible for one weirdboy to animate about 200 orks using nothing but raw WAAAGH! and the belief of one ork?
2. orks are born with build in knowledge/talents, like a mek or a weirdboy or a dok or whatever, is it possible for an ork to be born with the talents of both a mek and a weirdboy

1: they are orks, anything is possible
2: hasnt been seen before, but once again, they are orks so i guess its more than possible.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

lol i guess so, but would he have to be some sort of uber weirdboy? or would just a massacres worth of waaagh and some belief be enough

im thinking along the lines of a big scary looking ork, mostly bionik, with a huge weirdboy stik

hrm, giant weirdboy/mek with loads of copper bionics...
copper amplifying the WAAAGH! energy...
all of his warband are killed by another warband...
after such a large fight with so many orks theres alot of WAAAGH! around...
weirdboy/mek believes his warband won, and thus that they didnt die...
with so much WAAAGH! and the added amplification by the copper powering his belief...
all the orks that died come back to life (sort of) and the big Nek (nekromancer) starts his own WAAAGH!
i think that works

Surely every resurrected dead ork would also believe in the mighty waaaghness of it all, so for every resurrection, the weirdboy adds more waaagh energy...? Just insane ramblings...

Go Zorks! Or should that be Zorkz? Or Zorx?
Anyway, I like the idea. Fit's well with the whole "believe-in-technology" concept.
I'm not even sure if you would need the "one" ork to belief, just say that your weirdboy is waaay too powerfull

However, when Orks die, they sprout spore, mold and fungus..

so, their ability to be zombiefied might be limited by time.

Howabout an Ork Wierdboy who can raise slain Orks for a turn or 2 to complete "that last charge!!!!!!!!!!"

Maybe not have shambling Ork hordes following him all the time.. but.. something like

"Ol' Razdu leads da Boyz wit dem knowink that if a bolta katches dem... dey can still put a krumpin on da Humies."

Kinda, they're called madboyz. Ultimately, they're orks whose innate abilities didn't manifest properly and they're kinda insane as a result. play accordingly....

According to the Feral Ork armylist madboys went crazy from being exposed to too much technology for their brains to handle, but that might have been a retcon.

Anyways, an ork can survive with its brain removed and replaced with a squig's brain, so a warphead "lectrikin up" some dead boys "to get 'em back in da foight!" would probably work. Anything that can survive a head transplant performed by someone using 18th century medicine can probably stop muckin' about wif not 'avin any uv dem orgunz.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

fixed your post. Serious retcon. Back in the day Madboyz were, as mentioned, ork boyz that had the genetic code to be a specialist but the code didn't manifest properly...

I always thought it would be funny if Orks took a peculiar pity to zombies. Zombies, being once humies wot could shoot back and brought dead killy tanks for Orks tah loot are now slow, shambling and mostly helpless meatbags that don't know anything other than "grab and bite live things". Orks would kill them so easily they'd get bored, then develop an almost sympathetic attitude to the former humans who can't even enjoy a proppa fight anymore. Then go on a massive WAAAAAGH of zombie extermination, out of Ork Mercy.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

Not really mercy as we would understand it. Mercy as in, "these gits can't even enjoy a good fight anymore, lets kill em all in the name of fun."
