With EML's you get the choice of plasma or krak. My question is this:

Do you choose what type of missle the unit fires at the beginning of the game (making it a dedicated weapon), or can you choose which one to use every time you fire (giving it a variable loadout)?

I cannot find any verbage on this in the dex. Have I just missed it somewhere?

You choose when you fire.

You get to choose the type of missle you want every time you fire. This allows for the EML to be a very fexible peice of wargear. p.27 in the rulebook, bottom of the page on the left has a lttle blip about different ammo types.

Exact same thing goes with Imperial and Chaos Missile Launchers. You can choose Krak or Frag Missiles.

It makes the EML a very attractive vehicle weapon because you can fire S4 blast versions when moving, as they count as defensive, and S8 targeted versions when stationary, as main weapons.

Is that official? In 4th, weapons with multiple types counted as their strongest ones when deciding if they were main or defensive.

no they didn't, they used the strength they were using for that turn, I'm looking at my rulebook right now

Maybe I'm thinking WAY back to the trial rules.

thats the best thing about these little gems is that your enemy cannot predict which one you will use and at what and they are dirt cheap and you can field a few of em
