Down under

Between the forums going up and down and now this:

http://expired.revenuedirect.com/park.php?domain_name=PRIVATEERPRESSFORUMS.COM&site_id=35427

(They forgot to pay for their domain name apparently...you'd think that might be important?)

I haven't heard about them restructuring so I have to assume they simply dropped the ball. Anyone else have anything to add?

They haven't had a web guy for about 3 months. They finally hired a new guy a week or two ago.

And I don't know what you're talking about. Their website is fine.

I check the PP forums all day during work and I've never seen it get "parked". They've been fine for me all week. When did that happen?

New Web Guy has slowly begun to do some stuff. Lets hope he can speed things up. There is a lot of stuff that need updating.

Earlier today the URL redirected to a generic ad page. And now I'm getting a Page Load Error.

I'm viewing their page and forums fairly frequently and have never had an issue. Perhaps it's an intermediate step that sucks for international traffic.

I can't ever stay logged in to their forums from work though, something about the way their forum operates doesn't sit well with our network security. So it's view only for me most days.

Privateer's basic website needs to evolve (forums are ok). They've got too many models out for WM/H alone to organize simply by messy galleries. It's silly that I need to sort through six pages of randomly organized troop galleries to get a feel for the rank & file of a faction. While GW's site is a sluggish pile of Flash, their basic architecture is professional and easily understood--hopefully PP will take some tips.

The forums were down yesterday due to not renewing their stuff.

From what I've heard, their business model is to work people at least 50 hours a week, if not more, so I'm not surprised when things slip through the cracks.
