O.K. I really hope this is the right forums...I think it is...

Baisicaly I want to use the kasrkin minis for my guardsmen with the carapce armour doctrine...and the use the old stormtroopers for actual storm troopers.
do you think anyone would objext to this?

No thats perfectly fine, you could even do it the other way if you wanted. As long as you specify what is what it doesnt matter. Im a big fan of the Kasrkin models so I say do it!

Sounds good to me! Just make sure it's consistent, and your opponents have no trouble telling which is which.

Let me clear on this. I have no problem with people doing this as long as weapons match. I'm sick of people putting down flamer guys and then they turn out to be plasma guns.

So as long as your weapons shown on the models match what you are playing I don't see a problem.

Now in tourny's you could run into a tool.

karskin = best guard unit looks wise.
a whole army of karskin = win!

Um....both models he is talking about using are stormtrooper models with lasguns, so I don't see how the weapons couldn't match? I believe the OP was more worried about people objecting to his use of "Stormtrooper" models as Carpaced guardsmen.

My only concern would be to make sure your use of models is consistent, and don't try to model "shell game" since the actual Stormtroopers in your army will be the ones with 2 special weapons a squad and BS4. It would be frustrating to your opponent to have to determine which units in your army are the "Elites" and which are the "Troops" if you are not consistant. Aside from that, you should be fine!

Actually the Kasrkins are modeled with hellguns, and a targeting system.

Personally I wouldn't mind at all, as this is as close as you are going to get. Save modeling caraprace armour with greenstuff.

The older stormtroopers have hellguns as well, with targeters. My point was they all have the same weapon.

i think it speaks for its self once he puts the army on a table, its not possible to throw that many stormtroopers into a list.
only problem i can think of is cost if your going heavy on troops.

sure, just go ahead. Just make it clear to you opponent what is what. A differing colourscheme will also help.

Just keep in mind that this not a "ruling" in any way, shape or form.
