Im trying to paint a Ctan like this, im thinking layering using lighter and lighter shades of black/blue/white. Ya know, start with a dark grey/ blue and build up to the glowing white. do you thik this would work? I do have a airbrush at my disposal, should I break it out? any else?

I'm going to tell you right now you WILL NOT be able to acheive the glowing look from GW paints it will look drybrushed and just "painted" no matter ow may times you build up and apply white it won't glow like that. As far as non-GW paints I have little to no expierience so I can't help. But i thouh tI'd save you the dissapointment of trying with GW paints.

Thats only because GW's white is not white it's a very light grey and only a pure white can acheive that look.

It might be advisable to avoid C'tan altogether, because they say there's going to be a new Necron Codex in da' big 09, and it will remove the C'tan.

I can see why. It's not exactly fair having a God leading your army. I've no experience fighting them, but if the models stats are anything like how powerful the nightbringer is in the Ultramarines Novel, Nightbringer, I don't want to face them!

yermom, it can be done, it will take alot of time though.
ill have a quick go on my old keeper of secrets, see if i can get the effect on that.

sicarus, its not as tough as everyone says, it can be killed fairly easily.
or, if you want to beat a necon army and not hurt the thing just throw a speed bump or 2 at him, then gun down the warriors to make them phase out.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
