First time poster, long time reader.
I decided to finally register when i decided to start an ork army

New List!

Anyway here it is;

Solid. I'd suggest dropping Mega Armour so it doesn't slow down whatever boyz he's joining and bosspoles for all the nobs.

The red fonted stuff is edits to the list. I have 185 points to play with, the inclusion of 15 Rokkit Launchers (wow, anti-vehicle assault weapons, new to that!) is to take down any rhinos/dreadnoughts/razorbacks I'll encounter in tournament and friendly game situations. There seems to be no real hitters in the 'anti-tank' variety of Ork bar Tankbusters which will be too exposed and the use of a trukk pricey and, being the only vehicle, a magnet for enemy heavy fire. Any ideas to rememdy this? Killa Kanz have been suggested but will they really be worth it in tournaments?

Don't use meks in your Loota squads. They got half the range of the rest of your guns. And you gotta pay 5 points for it :S

Rokkits are honestly not that good if you plan to kill tanks. You will waste all the shoota shots, and the chance to knock out something significant is not very good. Use the PKs to knock anything AV14, rokkits are no good, and Lootas are good for everything else. Give the boyz Big Shootas.

Agree take lootas and just lootas in those mobs.

And yes kans is very good in tournaments just keep em in KFF range. and give em grotzookas.

I've changed the list to include a Mek and Killa Kanz to use together as suggested. I have 94 points left which can be used on maybe changing the Killa Kanz weapons, what weapon combis do you suggest and what strategies do you suggest for using them? It's already been said to keep them with Big Mek but how else should I use them?
and what units to bolster with the rest of the points?

What should I change back to then? the Mek idea with Killa Kanz was yours
Not meaning to be rude but do you, or anyone here, have experience with Orks in a tournament who can add some valuable input?

The warboss is out on his own. You could easily make room for him in one of the trukks. It might be worth spending the small number of points to upgrade him with Eavy Armour as well.

The Big Mek also might be vulnerable without company. His KFF works very nicely embarked on a vehicle so you could make room for him on one as well.

Grotzookas are an awesome weapon. Run the kanz up behind the trukks, so they get the benefit of the KFF until they are in range to shoot. Then peel the trukks off to assault, and shoot with the kanz.

You have the points to add another kan and run 2 mobs of 2 kanz each. This way you only need 1 kan from each mob to be in range of the KFF trukk/mek for both kanz to get the 4+ cover save.

Tornament exp with orks no not yet. Many games versus different armys yes.

One of the best if not the best ork army out there atm are Mek Kanz with loota fire base and shootas running behind kanz. Thats a fact.

Your warboss has a power klaw and a big choppa. I think you can only have one of those, not both. You might want to give him a bike, so he can go with all those bikers you have.
