I've always liked the idea of an all anti-grav Eldar list. The general theme is that they're a group of Eldar Pirates/Mercs.

HQ:
Farseer (Bike, Runes of Warding, Stones, Doom, Fortune)
9 Warlocks (Bikes, 1x Enhance, 1x Embolden)
Uber cheese bike council, yes I know I am going to hell for owning this unit fully painted let alone fielding it.

Troops:
3 Squads of 6 Jetbikes, each with 2x Shuricannons

Fast Attack:
2 Squads of 2 Vypers with Scatter Lasers

Heavy Support:
3 Fire Prisms with Holo-Fields

Pros:
Decent vs Hordes, Uberkilly bike council
Cons:
Model Count, what is that?

So, I know it's far... far... far from an optimized list, but what do you guys think? Will it be hamstrung too much by the amazingly low model count?

My bro used to run eldar in 3rd edition, but he tooks lots of models, so I'm not experienced enough to say if this would be hamstrung or not. It would certainly LOOK awesome... isn't that reason enough to do it?

Speaking of which- Glen Burnie, MD? Were you at the Battle Bunker this past Sunday? There was someone there with a LOT of jetbikes and anti-grav eldar goodness. Just wondering

I'd love to see your HQ squad in person... cheese or no cheese!

Off-topic: Wasn't me, but there's only 3 jetbike junkies I know of who frequent the bunker. If I get some free time away from out-processing from my current duty station en-route to Korea I'll plan a trip to the Bunker.

I dunno if you know this already because i dont see any pts values but according to the Eldar FAQ Warlocks on Jetbikes now cost 36 pts instead of 45. Just a heads up.

Do the Jetbike mounted Warlocks have Spears? If not i strongly suggest investing in their points. It allows a 24" str9 effectiveness range against vehicles and allows more of the hit and run style the Eldar Jetbikes can perform (6" assault move). Although if your models arent equipped with them i wouldnt bother now, but if its just a few friendly games you could probably make an agreement with a friend to allow them to have Spears. Congrats on completing such a difficult unit, thats a lot of customizing.

Your list, like many Jetbike oriented lists, lacks ranged anti-vehicle. And really your only effective tank busting squad is your 400 pt HQ unit. A common way to make up for this in such lists is by giving each Jetbike unit a Warlock with a spear and Embolden. This, in conjunction with the Shuriken Cannons can be very useful against vehicles. It also keeps their Ld 8 asses off the ground, as they can be easily pinned by the lightest fire. (which they will be receiving because of no other infantry)

My advise would be to drop the Vypers completely. Even when you want to achieve a mobile firepower army, they are still not worth their poitns as they are way to fragile and only carry one heavy weapon for a huge amount of points. I strongly recommend using the points dropped here to be spent on the Warlocks for your Jetbikes and perhaps another unit of 6. I wouldnt boost any of the other squads to 9 because at 6 they are easier to hide, although you may not find too many fields that blocks LoS for all your units. So perhaps one squad of 9 in the open with a warlock and spear could be valid here.

IMHO all 3 Fire Prisms dont need Holofields. I suggest 2 with holofields but one could work as well. This is because with the massive range on a Fire Prism it is easy to stay out of harms way, therefore allowing you to save some points as i doubt all 3 Prisms will be within range of decent anti-tank fire. These points could also be invested on the recommendations above.

Another good investment in points, which is common in Saim-Hann lists, is putting an assault unit in a Wave Serpent. This could be something like Storm Guardians with 2 flamers and a Warlock with Destructor or Howling Banshees (as your Farseer has Doom). And if you arm your Wave Serpent with a decent weapon (like TL BLs) it becomes a good ranged anti-tank base as well.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

Wow! That FAQ makes a huge difference. I'm gonna sit down and re-tool the list tonight. I was completely oblivious to that.

E-o-I, would you mind posting a link to that FAQ? I've been planning my own jetbike list and want to make sure I've got the most up to date info. Thanks!

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I apologize, I realize now that I was reading the 4th Ed FAQ and during that time the old Codex was still in use. Thanks Sazzlefrats, the correct points cost is 45. This is where i was reading from:

Bummer. I too recently found out that the FAQ is outdated. 9pt cheaper warlocks on bikes would really have helped.

Any thoughts on dropping the 4 vypers for Embolden Warlocks with Singing spears for the jetbike squads?
