If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated. |

Im not sure if they even print the codex anymore. insaniak i think what hes trying to get across is what happened to counter attack? and space wolfs venerable drednaught its no longer special to them anymore. For that matter warping squads around the board use to be a necron and 13th company thing only now all marines get get the ability to do it. I am a long time space wolf player. With the new sm codex out it ends up being confusing and frustrating trying to combine rules ment for 5th edtion, and rules ment for 3rd and 4th edtion. I end up coming across with my wolves as a lame/cheap player beacuse of the point differnence in wargear and the new abilites that are in the new sm codex. To avoid this i've personaly decied that if i'm going to play space wolves to only ues the decription of the wargear thats listed in the wolves codex, or in the mean time ues a different army till the new space wolves codex comes out (from what i hear some time in late 09 or early 10).

Ummm, brad. Of course you would only use the descriptions of the wargear in your codex. It is your armies codex and wargear! You can't mix and match stuff to your liking unless YOUR codex says so. Like where it says use the tank from the Space marine codex and so on then thats fine, but if your codex says Storm shields are 4+ in assaults only, then thats all it is. Doesn't matter what it says in the new marine dex. Just because marines points and gear was rebalanced doesn't mean you can take the gear and pay less points. If thats what you are doing then that is why people are saying you are lame /cheesy to play against.

well you could go and check out the FAQ on the GW website.
no I really mean it, for once there is an FAQ
no I'm not taking the piss, go and look.
and the Venerable dread is still special as it lets us re-roll dice for first turn.
and true grit works as per the SW codex, countercharge works as per the new rules.

Vompire, welcome to Dakka. Please use punctuation in the future. You’re arguments will be sign with greater merit and you’ll avoid people calling you on it.

The Venerable Dreadnought was special because it counted as an HQ (hasn't changed) and let you re-roll the dice for first turn selection (hasn't changed).

the CSW also says refer to the CSM for wargear descriptions etc. You would pay the points in CSW and refer to the other book for abilities.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase. |
