the question is in the title. Assume there is the Khan or a captain mounted on a bike leading the army.

No. The rules say that the unit must be 5 models minimum. An attack bike is 1 model, so 3+1 = 4, not the minimum of 5 that is required.

so 4 bikers including the sergeant with an attached attack bike would constitue a troop choice if you also field the Khan or a captain mounted on a bike?

No. It would not count because the Unit was not 5 models when the army was made.

It must be 5 models strong at army list creation in order to count as a Troops Choice.

Read it again. He is saying 4 bikers plus attack bike; which would be 5 bikers.

Sorry Green, doesn't say 5 models. it says 5 bikes so it wouldn't be valid. you need 5 bikes before it becomes a troop choice. The attack bike is a unit upgrade.

Huh?

It says: "Space Marine Bike squads of at least five models may be taken as Troops choices."


So yes, if the squad has at least five models (one of which can be an Attack Bike) then it qualifies to be a Troops choice.
