Well, I'd replace one Reedemer for another Tactical squad. This would give you a bit more tactical variety.

Sorry I goofed on the list, meant to do crusaders, not redeemers like I had previously listed. I changed to list around a bit to cover that mistake.

@westenfux
Just curious, can you explain your suggestion in more detail?

Cause from where I'm standing 2 tac squads combat squading will be sufficient enough in an objective mission, especially with one of the combat squads being able to ride in the 3rd crusader. Also, in a kp mission a landraider would be a lot more tough then a 3rd tac squad.

You are right, razors can only carry 6 people but you can combat squad a 10 man tactical squad into 2 smaller 5 man squads, thus allowing for one squad to ride in the razor and the other to either sit back or foot slog.

@Phagetime

I think he plans to combat squad.

@mtbob

what exactly are the libbies going to be up to? How are the sternguard getting around? In the crusaders?

I plan on having the sternguard ride in the crusaders as well as have the libbies attached to the sternguard units. The basic idea of the list is to run the crusaders up and have them cause havoc and when needed have the sternguard get out and unload with their combi-meltas. In case the sternguard are locked into h2h, the librarians will use gate of infinity to jump the unit out of h2h, once out of h2h, the sternguard and anything else will hopefully take out the assaulting unit with their shooting.

As for the libbies role, as mentioned earlier they will support their unit with gate, utilizing nullzone for those pesky daemons, seer councils, etc., as well as utilizing their psychic hood to hopefully annoy opposing psykers within their 24 inch bubble.

I think the list is powerfull for sure, I'm just concerned that you are on the board for 2 turns before you start to deal out the hurt to your enemy. Drop armies avoid this problem, and gunline does as well. Being in AV 14 gives you a huge boost of course...

Obviously, you swapped for Crusaders, anyway.
Landraiders are too mono-dimensional in a battle. They refuse to get down but their killing potential is not very high. In the 5th ed, the best way to kill the enemy is in close combat thanks to the new combat resolution. I'd be more inclined to drop one Crusader for another scoring unit or alternatively another Sternguard.

Well the thing I see with drop armies is their scary potential to scatter away from the area that they are trying to land in, that and they can can come in piecemeal which can be very bad sometimes. Now as for gunline armies, from what I've seen they are on not as popular as they once in 4th ed, I believe this is mainly due to change to the vehicle damage chart in 5th, that combined with a gunline army's lack of mobility helps with their decline in their popularity.

The main reason why I'm trying to use the raiders as a delivery system is that they allow me to hopefully survive the turn or two shooting that I will receive from most armies, that and their potential to be the ultimate contesters or the ultimate objective holders (in the case of the crusader or two holding the tac squad) due to their high armour.

How are landraiders mono-dimensional? They are made for a specific role and they perform that role well, that combined with their high armour and ability to transport various units make them tough as nails in my book.

Now cc may be scary due to the multiple modifiers but you forget that cc is also a lot shorter too, that combined with the inability for a unit to consolidate into another unit once h2h is finished makes it downright scary for the assaulting unit due to the fact that they are hoping for whatever unit they charge lasts 2 rounds of cc, cause if not then they are in for a world of hurt due to the opposing army being able to blast away at them in retaliation for killing their unit in cc.

Now as for dropping the crusader for the extra tac squad, can you please explain why that would be a better solution for this army, from where I'm standing combat squading the two tac squads into 4 scoring units would be sufficient, if properly screened. Besides I believe most of my opponent's attention will most likely be focused on the 3 crusaders barreling their way anyways.

Although I like your suggestion to swap the raider for a unit of sternguard, it definitely would add more offensive power to the list, how would you propose for them to get close to the enemy without the 3rd raider? A rhino perhaps?
