How many squads is good for a deepstrike IG force to contest objectives. Right now im going to try using 2 stormtroopers with 4 plasma. Do i need overwhelming forces? I had a fully DS army before and it worked, but only ever tried it once.
As a side note, what is your strat to take objectives as guard?

There are several strategies that you can use. Grenadiers in Chimeras can effectively take objectives. Judicious use of Improved Comms helps. You can always take light infantry or drop troops to get your infantry onto objectives quickly. Improved Comms is worth taking since you know whether you are going 1st or 2nd and allows you the option to hold certain aspects of your army in reserve. So you can use it to bring things on quicker...or use it to hold things back longer.

I have two different guard styles. I have an all mechanized version, with chimaeras and multilasers. Just drive around, and jump out, park the car in front to act as a physical barrier to shooting attacks....

Or I deepstrike entire platoons on objectives and dig in real good.
