Lately I've been drowning in prize support, so I've gone and collected a rather unconventional Tau army. I'd like the board's comments on the strength/weakness of this idea.

HQ: Crisis Boss, probably ld 10 guy w/appropriate upgardes (right now I'm thinking plasma rifle, missile pod, failsafe bomb to let some kroot run w/out getting swept, but I'm not fully decided yet)
Troop: 6 Fire Warriors, Devilfish w/cover upgrade, missile pods (just to avoid losing a KP for the drones)
Troop: 20 Kroot, 10 Kroot Hounds

Idea was an Ork-style Horde army with adequate anti-tank, that trades fearless for infiltrate. I shuttered this idea previously, because of Fear the Darkness, but with the new Marine 'dex that seems to be out. How do you guys think this list will do? I won't have it done in time for Baltimore, but if I haven't missed some glaring weakness I'm going to try and bring it to some tourneys next year.

insane ammount of kroot.... so insane that it just might work.

with that much in kroot, i might avtualy consider investing in shapers to keep them around a bit more.

for the broadsides, take 6 shield drones.... that 6 more T 4 2+ saves, and if you take lascannon you have a 4+ invul (i konw you would probly get a 4+ cover... but the 2+ armor save makes it with the extra points)

Give the Broadsides the Advanced Stabilization System so that they can move and shoot the Railguns. They are already twin-linked, so the Targeting Array (+1 BS) is redundant. Plus there are 9 of them, so it doesn't matter too much if you miss once or twice.

And I agree with Envy89, give those Broadsides a bunch of Shield Drones. Your enemies will cry. "I hit! I wounded! Awesome! You failed your save, it's dead!"

its tau trying to be ork... dont see it happening

DONT take shapers and if you do dont give 6+ saves almost all weapons in game are AP 6 or lower, but i like the idea kroot ftw! :-)
