Perfectly acceptable as a DP or GD for that matter (in CSM, as they only have one GD now. Jean-Eric, the greater daemon.)
Kinda shames the GW stuff, doesn't it?
Detail, posing, sheer sense of malevolence.
Plus it isn't covered in skulls.

I would guess that is a 40-50 mm bases that it's on, given that the box description states one miniature in the box, and the other boxes of a similar price level show two miniatures.

So...likely it's close to 54mm? If so, it should be dead on IMO. Funny, I just started painting the DP from GW, I'm not that excited about it really...so I started making one. I'll post a pic as soon as I get it together somewhat.

That thing is pure menace. Surely you should use it. Your enemy will be so preoccupied by the miniature itself that they will not be in a right state of mind, which is worth the price.
