ok is there some magical way to make your own hand made, GW type primarch as far as rules go? not only primarchs in general but really, any mini. im not talking just making up all the stats randomly and giving the guy an earth shaker on his left arm and saying he costs 476pts. I mean does anyone know of a system that can allow me to accurately do this??? i REALLY need some answers on this one dakka!
Ive tried a few different ways on my own and using Orks and SM as a comparison, but the couple ways ive tried they either are to much for the orks/to cheap for the SM or........ WAY to much for both. i need help

No, there is no way to do such a thing.

Well, there's no "official" way to make a Primarch, but as with any part of the game if you want to make something up and your gaming group is keen on it, then you just make up some rules, try them out and if they don't work tweek them until you like them.
The Bolter and Chainsword forum has some pretty good home-brew rules for some (if not all) of the Primarchs, so you might check over there.
The closest GW has come in recent years to letting you design your own models was with vehicles/gargantuan creatures in the Vehicle/Gargantuan Creature Design Rules, but even those required your opponent's consent (and they don't quite vibe with 5th edition anymore, but they're still pretty solid).
You can find the VDR rules on the net if you search hard enough, or you can ebay an old copy of the last Chapter Approved annual (2005), which has those rules in them.

GW for one of their event games a couple years back had put together a set of rules for some of the Primarchs. High in stats, simple wargear, but vast impact on the army (along the lines of chapter/company standards impacting your whole army all the time).

They recently created a profile for Angron: Prince of Blood. As I recall he was a 750 point Bloodthirster that pretty much sucked in every way and could die to 5 assault terminators.

I thought GW had made a Character Design Rules set way back? I don't think it was very good, as I never actually saw it, nor ever use it, just heard of it when people talked about VDR and comparing the points values of making models that already existed (CDR was always much higher than the actual).

Just because anyone agrees with anyone, doesn't mean they are correct. Beware the thin line between what is "Correct" and what is "Popular." |

well suck. yea i own the VDR book. its been helpful for vehicles lol. I once made a 4 barreled, rapid fire? shoot i cant remember anyways with barrage super basilisk tank. it was all part of a super awesome campaign a group of us made from that book. man that thing killed alot lol.
but yea ill check out the B&C site. i was REALLY hoping that GW had some type of system they used to make IC...... but apprently abbadon and calgar are just "ok they have these stats, this weapon, are THIS bad ass.... and I think they cost said amount" blasted thanks anyways

I would start with the old 3.5 chaos codex. The chaos attributes, wargear and vet skills pretty much allow for any reasonable combination. throw in Marine or Inquisition wargear and options and you're more or less set.
My personal take is stats of 5 to 6 and some vet skills. Tough but not god-like. Keep in mind they never really faced hive tyrants or greater demons, until the heresy they mostly fought Orks and Humans. The difference between Phoenix Lords and aspect warrirors is my idea of what the primarchs might look like.
