I've used Foundation paints for the first two coats on my Baneblade, but I'm having a little difficulty with the final coat, a standard Citadel color, Scab Red. Has anyone used standard paints in the gun? What consistency did you use? Any tricks? The gun specifically states you should use Foundation paints, but I wouldn't mind saving a couple hours with this last coat.

You just have to reduce the amount of water that you use. The markings on the jar are for the foundation paints (which have more pigment, so need more solvent to thin). You have to experiment to find the ratio, though, as different non-foundation paints contain varying pigment levels.
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Using the GW spray gun I used regular paint non foundation on my drop pod, it took my about 2-3 coats to get a good base , the green looks great, nice and even with no brush strokes
now if only I could paint the rest great...WIP
