It worked pretty good today, here is the list I used:

HQ:
Pedro Kantor 175
Librarian+Vortex of Doom+Null Zone+Stormbolter 103

Troops:
5 Scouts+4 Snipper Rifles+Heavy Bolter 85
5 Scouts+4 Snipper Rifles+Heavy Bolter 85

Elites:
10 Sternguards+Power Fist+6 CombiMeltas+2 CombiFlamer+2 Heavy Flamer
+Drop pod+Deathwind 390
10 Sternguards+Lightning Claw+6 CombiMeltas+2 CombiFlamer+2 Heavy Flamer
+Drop pod+Deathwind 390
1 Inquisitor+Auspex+2 Mistics+3 Gun Servitors+3 Heavy Bolters 109

Heavy Support:
6 Devastators+4 Plasma cannon+Drop Pod+Deathwind Missile Launcher 261
6 Devastators+4 Plasma cannon 206
6 Devastators+4 Plasma Cannon 206
Total =2.000

Pedro goes with 1 of the SG squads, the librerian with the other, both on first turn, I deploy the devastator drop pod in reserve empty.

Inquisitor to keep my area clear of nasty things from the sky, close to Plasma cannons.

3 battles ended in the 3rd turn with my oponent aniquilated.

A very nasty list... but awfully small squad sizes with max special weapons... I'm guessing the tournament didn't have army composition scores...

Nor did he face any mech heavy lists, as that list cannot deal with Armor 14 in any way, shape, or form. There's what, two power fists?

A decent list, to be sure, but, with all modesty, I'd feel my LRC mech would win, and many other mech lists could decimate it. I just don't see it doing much to anything besides non-complete horde inf spams, like all inf SM/CSM, or deathwing and like. But extreme hordes like 180 boyz+Support, or mech like BT LRC, IG mech, tau fishy stuff, and eldar mech of some degree would laugh at this list. Maybe not the 180 boyz so much, with 12 plasma and that many flamers/ect, I can see it being very close with that list, if whatever support unit's your opponents feel are not up to the challenge.

I can Change the Sternguard special heavy weapons compositions and perhaps 1 of the Plasma cannons squads.
What do you suggest? Missiles? Laser Cannons? Meltaguns instead of combimeltas? Gate power to make them more movile?
Suggestions please to make it competitive vs heavy armored lists.

Not only that, but 10 scouts as all your troops? Not even camo cloaks? At 2000 points? I'd kill them first, then you have problems winning without wiping me, which quite frankly I don't think this list could do. Congrats on the win, but there are definitely holes in it.

Also, Soup, both Sternguard squads have 6 combi-meltas. That should be enough to deal with LR lists, at least most of them.

Pedro Kantor special hability make Sternguard as scoring units, so its arround 840 points in 6 scoring units
12 combimeltas is still not enought for armor, Im prolly placing a meltagun and erasing 1 of the heavy flamers.

Why are you wasting the points on a 4th pod? you only need 3 to make it so your two sternguard come in first turn. Oh, and lookout for IG armies, they'll make you cry. Probably sisters or LR based GK's too.

Not a list i would take as concentrated firepower will make those devastator squads useless after 2 turns but if it wins in your area then it's a solid list

I'd probably drop the 4th pod, all 4 lascannons on the sternguard and put in another form of anti tank like multi-melta speeders or attack bikes. Thats just me though.

The second Drop pod is to be able to deploy 2 empty pods in first turn agains all DS armys
I will keep the Lascannons, Sternguards are spliting into combad squads after landing so its pretty simple to have 5 marines with 2 lascannons as advanced heavy weapon squad. I think with that I ended my tank problem.

A good point on the second pod that I hadn't thought about but why not use gate on the librarian instead and still be able to drop that one pod w/sternguard since they could re-deploy anyway and still save the points?

If they are going to deepstrike consider mult-meltas instead. Better AP since you'll be landing on the bad men. Lascannons really aren't all they used to be. But also the heavy weapons mean you paying for ammo that your not using which seems a waste to me.

Lascannons are really there for mirror matches... those enemy drop pods deployed close to my static army section , away enought from my mistics 12 inch average detecting range and way out from Sternguard with MultiMeltas, lascannon on the other hand cover almost the full battleground, Also Lascannons can hunt kitting speed tanks, Multimelta range on the other hand might be easy to avoid.
Im a FANATIC of Gate power, been playing it a lot with sternguard and assault termies... but im afraid I need that antiarmor power, still will be a thing to be considered after I playtest the army a little more, If I really can handle eldar mech and heavy IG tank I will retake gate.
