Please give me your advice and opinions. I just got the codex a couple of days ago, so this is my first real attempt at an army list.

Now I know what you're all going to say. "What's with all the plasma" IMHO plasma gives me my best bang for the buck as it can go everywhere. I'm counting on my Armor Save to counter the dreaded

I also didn't feel the a standard was useful enough for me, but time will tell if I change my opinion.

And Squad # is AOBR. That is why they have a flamer/missile in that squad. I plan on modifying the SGT to power sword and plasma pistol.

can you please take off the indiviual costs of the wargear,its breaking a rule,looks good i would defintly get the points for some artifier armour on the captin gives him 2+ save.

you dont need to list the stuff the models come with. we know what they have, it takes up space putting it there and valuble time reading it.

you should not replace anything your captain has with a boltgun. generally characters are better in combat than at shooting. he is also quite boring (maybe thats the feeling you were going for).

your combat squad, nor anyone else for that matter, should have plasma pistols. there are better things to spend the points on. you are spending 120pts on plasma pistols in this army and it really wont help you. for the same cost you could mount your captain and his command squad all on bikes!

the razorback is fine but you probably dont need the extra storm bolter.

your tactials are all over the place. if you give them the same equipment they will have the same function and be easier to use, especially if you are a beginner. stick with Missile Launchers/Multi-meltas and flamers. the melta bombs are a waste of points.

if you are using your scouts as snipers then why does the sgt have short ranged weaponry? make them good at one thing and dont waste the points by giving them all sniper rifles.

your landraider should have a multi-melta instead of a storm bolter. its the same points for a much MUCH better gun.

the predator and the dread feel very lonely and a bit out of place. i would say drop one to get another of the other, and since you should have an ok amount of anti-tank from your tactials and landraider i think you should get another predator (again you can save points by getting rid of the stormbolter.

at the moment you have wasted 155pts on pointless wargear (8 plasma pistols, the scout sgt power sword and 2 storm bolters). use these points to make your captain better, maybe give a couple of guys in your command squad powerfists and change that dread to a pred.

Lose the PP. Pricey for likely 1 S7 AP2 shot per game. You or your opponent are likely to charge if you are within 12" of them.

Lose the Predator, Razorback and Dreadnought for another Landraider.

Now you can use 1 LR to transport the captain w command squad and the other to house the termies.
Agreed lose the SB for a MM.

So.

Captain: PW (think about relic blade...)

Cmd Squad: w 4 PW. (You may appreciate 1 having a PF)

Elite: 6 Termies as before

Troop: 10 Tacs: PW, Melta, MM in plain-jane Rhino 225 each

x 3

Troop: 5 Scouts with SR and cloak (why the teleport homer??)

Heavy: 2 x Landraiders w MM. Maybe take one as a dedicated transport for the termies.


With the points left, you can look at perhaps a 3rd heavy choice or maybe a 4th tactical squad or a full scout squad to flank march.

Bodies count and adding at least 10 more tacs or scouts would help. 10 scouts with shotguns would be good crowd control. Give that sgt a combi-melta or powerfist and you have a nice surprise with even some legitimate AT.

Look at the 3 types of LR and I would consider a Redeemer or Crusader for the 2nd one depending on what you want to be the focus of your army.
