Overall what do you think you could have done better?
#1. Not play Orks. I built my army to try to beat them and they are still my weakness. I see everyones batreps, and they don't get to play them. One
GT I hope to dodge them, but I know that it will be even worse in the future now that Assault on Black Reach has made them affordable.
I liked my list for the Baltimore
GT more than Vegas. It has a lot of strength 5-6 shooting. Exorcists for killing vehicles and heavy infantry, and counter assault with the Grey Knights.
Where did I play wrong? I made a few mistakes, but I thought my play was good. I have played very few games of 5th edition and that it really hurt me in Vegas. But my Vegas games and the 'Ard boys games (those are all of my 5th edition games that I have played) gave me enough practice so that I could build a better army for Baltimore, and I knew how to play the 5th edition missions better. For example: In Vegas I was waiting too long to go for objectives, and forgetting to leave a scoring unit behind for holding objectives behind the lines. In Baltimore I felt that I was playing the missions much better.
What killed me was that I was not rolling well, but there was nothing I can do about that. That is what hurt me a lot, especially in game #1. There were several critical die rolls and I was having no luck. Even in the mundane rolls of my Exorcists to kill the Nob Bikers I was rolling so poorly that I had to devote my entire army to shooting at them and even then I was not doing much to them. If the Exorcists could just roll average, I could of then devoted more shooting to his boyz squads (which even then were getting a little chewed up by the end of the game). Even at the end I stood a good chance at a tie if my Canoness could have killed just one Ork in assault, but it was not to be.
