So...I'm looking at Far Harad rules. The models are cool as heck. I really want to play them. But no stand fast, and courage 1? The requirement that a Mahud leader be in Combat within 12" to pass courage tests seems narrow...I mean, the only time models are 'in combat' is (a) after they have moved by charging someone', and (b) before that combat has been fought. Once combat is fought, models are disengaged.

However, courage tests are most frequently taken at the beginning of a turn (when no models are in combat). Just doesn't seem to make the list very competitive/tourney playable.

Am I missing something?

As far as their courage goes, the stipulation that leaders need to be in combat for their followers to pass courage tests pretty much forces one to charge them into contact first. Of course this means that they will in some cases be moving away from their troops, which is balanced by the fact that the range is 12".

The notion of a lead from the front, in your face close combat force I like, stats wise they rock too. I will acquire the models as soon as my funds situation improves!
