Hello dakka! I have been enjoying posting up images recently since yak taught me how to use the attach feature and I have been going through some of my old stuff, so to hopefully brighten your tuesday here are some images of a nice converted unit of mine.
I did some Fire dragon Aspect warriors a long time ago with conversions from other aspect warriors and an airbrushed magnetic tank for swapping weapons. The airbrush came out pretty well and the squad looks nie I think. I was particularly satisfied with the exarch conversion who actually used a lot of bits. being that the Eldar line is still mostly metal it has always been a challenege to convert aspect warriors to match the poseability in the other armies minis which are mostly platic. That said I really saw this squad as a success and they are almost entirely metal.
PS Are they ever going to make Eldar legs in plastic that are running or kneeling? Heh.

Thanks a lot!
Airbrush is a really great medium.method for Eldar and Tau. It's actually not to hard to do either, but the barrier cost for a compressor, line and a good gun is a bit sticky.

I also used some neat tricks here, like reverse painting the canopy Gold and masking the top, and using a black gell pen for the panel lines.
Hope you all like it! Let me know what you think!

The Exarch is a pretty sweet conversion.

I love the exarch conversion and I think the blending from red to orange to yellow is very well done.
However, I do think that the models look unfinished. You've exclusively used black, red, orange, yellow and gold as your colors.
I do think sticking to a limited palette is a great idea, but when you do I think you really have to finish off the areas with an extreme edging highlight to actually make areas stand out from each other.
I say this because without such a highlight (as they currently stand) from a distance they tend to look like one big blob of reddish-orange.
The other thing that could help in this regard would have been to pick an opposing color to paint the gems that are scattered across the model, perhaps a nice green or blue. Again, from a distance I think this would have helped to break up the singular 'wall of one color' look.

You got me! These never did get the finish they deserved to be GREAT models!
Very true, the orange details on the squad really blend in to closely. If I had it to do over again I think I would go for some yellow, like the tank has, instead.
But I still think it is a really good table top unit.

Love the conversions, don't care for the paint jobs on the dragons. As been said, they just don't look done. Just red.

At the time I thought, and I still do that Firedragons, and most aspects were predominately one color. So I did limit the pallet to just red black orange and Gold.
If I did these again I think I would do green acents, I use to have this irrational fear that red and green were always reminiscent of Christmas and I avoided it for that reason.
Ah well.

I liked doing my aspects with a body color and contrasting head color, with the exception of the dragons, who had red/orange bodies with yellow heads.
