Friday, rolled into the Sheraton City Center, then hit Hooters for dinner. Had a couple Autumn Ales, a bowl of chili, some wings and fries with chili and cheese. The cheese sauce they have has great flavor, and complements the chili if you pour the latter on the fries. The Autumn Ales were very good, I wish I had known that they have Bass on tap now. Our server was a really cute and perky girl named Leanna.
Saturday morning played my first game. Lost to Dureke Sanchez. He's a dirty cheater if you ever play him. (wink wink)
Lunch at Hooters. Had a couple more Autumn Ales, some buffalo shrimp and crabcakes. Now, despite Baltimore's reputation for crabcakes, these were probably some kind of generically made in a central locale kinda of crab cake. Not bad, but not up to Baltimore standards. You want a good crabcake in Baltimore, you go to GnM in Linthicum or the Poplar Inn in Dundalk. Thats some good eatin. Anyway, finished off our beers and stumbled back to the convention center.
Game 2 played some guy, he was nice, I lost.
Game 3 played Jay Purvick, was feelin sicky and losin my beer buzz, but pulled out a win. Had the game gone to game 6 he would have won.
Dinner that night was with my friend Jon's mom and sisters at the Cheesecake factory. Jon's sisters are a pair of twins, and quite the beauties. We had beers and drinks, and ate some really good baja tacos at the factory, and then had some awesome cheesecakes. I really liked the strawberry cheesecake, but the oreo one and the coconut one really rocked. Jon's mom and I talked most of the night about legal careers and our lovelives between beers and wines....a very nice night.
Game 4. Woke up hungover, played a nice guy, lost.
Game 5 against Mikey Bird, got smacked around. I kept having visions of the jackalope his dad had sent to Dureke Sanchez.
Left and went to Hooters to watch the Ravens game. Had a couple more beers, an order of wings and the fries again from the other night. Our waitress was Debbie, and she ROCKED. Very attentive, friendly without being dumb....add this with her other assets and she was a rockin server. The food was good again, and watching the game there was enjoyable. I just wish the Ravens had done better. Contrary to the belief of the Giants fans, the Ravens did not get spanked. Yes they lost by 20 points, but 7 of them were off a fluke INT. The Ravens are developing a team, so they got their backup some reps in the running game, and worked on making sure their rookie QB learned more about running a team. They did not try to overcome a 20 point deficit with 10 minutes to go. That will come later when Flacco is more experienced.
So all in all, I had a blast at the GT. I finally met Gregg Spears after all our phone convesations, hung out with a lot of great gamers, saw Don Mondo duck me again, and got inspired to rededicate myself to 40K and get back to my winning ways.
BTW Don, I am still working on Operation Wandering Trophy <wink wink>

Gotta love a batrep that talks more about the between-game beer, food and serving wenches then the actual games themselves.

My quick Baltimore report...
I sucked 1win 2loss 2ties
...however, Saturday night we went to hooters. Our waitress was an alright looking younger black chick with a fabulous rear. Sadly we didnt get sat at the table that the buxom blond was serving at, she was a C-cup AT LEAST! We ordered prolly 3 pitchers of Amber (we were going light since we were already pretty much drunk) and 3 orders of HOT wings. I was starving after not eating all day so I also ordered the buffalo shrimp. When our entrees came I had the fish sandwich which is always awesome.
After hooters WCBrian and I stopped off at the hotel bar for some guinesses where we got so blatantly stupid with dumb jokes we couldnt stop laughing. I jokingly thought about hitting on this fat chick at the end of the bar but decided that my GT shirt wouldnt quite impress her enough to share my roll-away. We ordered our last 3 guinesses and went upstairs to drink with Stormboy97 more take another round of 'chaser' and pass out watching batman:dark knight.

Aha next year we'll have to co-ordinate our trips to Hooters. Good to see other people have the right priorities too.
To be honest, for all the non local people, if you want really good food at really good bars, the places to go are in Canton and Fells Point. Fells tends to have a younger crowd, and Canton has the better food. There are alot of other nice places I could recommend, but IMHO for a good time that won't bankrupt you, Canton is the place.

Hehehe. Yeah, I wasn't knocking him tbh, my fav tournament experiences had as much to do with games as it did the between game booze and waitresses (one place in Cananda I went to was chock full of girls in school girl outfits. Beats Hooterz hands down.)
