Has anyone assembled the new Land Speeder model? How much of an improvement in assembly, if any, is it over the dreaded old model?

I have compared it side by side on the sprue to an older one. It definitely has more pieces, the hull has been subdivided differently. Im hoping it will not have the same minor fit issue the older one had between the hood and the "teeth" part.
Its pretty great with all the weapon options and a sort of universal chin mount piece to accomodate the heavy flamer or the ACannon.
My only minor gripe, it probably wont be any easier to convert into a Storm, which is my plan.
It is different, it looks potentially better. It appears when assemnbled it will be geometricaly identical to the older one.

From memory, that was no 'minor' problem when putting mine together. A gaping chasm of fail perpetually faced my enemy whenever i rolled out my speeder.

Your Landspeeder was made from the halves of two crashed vehicles welded together and resprayed.

Just model teeth on it and say it's supposed to be like that

There is no need to use rubber bands to hold this one together while the glue sets. (These are some of my more important tools).
It is easier to convert into the storm version. Just needs more cuts, is all, and most of the pieces that need cuts are flat. Intakes are easier to remove because the grilles are separate pieces, no longer moulded onto the seatbacks.
