Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

So I was thinking of mixing Steel Legion and Cadians together, mostly because the Cadians are so much cheaper, and they come with the flamers and extra bits. What do people think about this? I was thinking of getting maybe 10 of those Pig Iron (?) heads with the gas masks. I also have spare heads such as Spase Marinez!! screaming heads, bionics, those Eldar Guardian heads with no helmet. Etc.

I think it should be fine so long as I lose the majority of the Cadian heads, the Steel Legion coats are not that long. They are not the wallowing in mud great coats that the Death Corps wear.

I am getting at least one box of Catachans, too. There are plenty of heads there. The conscripts can wear the helmets.

I will probably get at least one box of Hive Gangers from Necromunda. I want a variety so it does not look tired.

So they wouldn't have the trenchcoats then?
They would still look cool with just the heads, but they wouldn't quite rank up there with the full Steel Legion models.
They'd look better then most guard either way (Cadians get kind of boring).

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I imagine its quite common for the higher ups in the IG to combined the lucky few that survive a large campain into a mix-match unit and send them right back to the front lines.

maybe I will just bite the bullet. I only need ... 30 Steel Legion guys and I was going to buy 20 anyway. They can always be an Armored Fist squad for an Inquisition led force.

My IG army is mostly Cadian. I do have several squads of Mordian and Kreig mixed in. Its standard IG doctrine to pull units from all over to make a force. Less likelyhood of organized rebellion on their hands. Horus taught them well...
