I run my Killa Kans in squads of 2 at the moment, and I have two squads. One squad I run with 2x Big Shootas, and I find the amount of BS3 S5 shots that actually hit are pretty decent. The other squad I have (also 2 Kans in the squad) I originally decided to go with 2 Rokkits, but Ive since found the actual amount of hits to be pretty low, and with the AOBR Deffkoptas (6 in my army) I have enough Rokkits (if such a thing is possible) for now.

What I find Im lacking in the army is AP2 weapons. I did however, try out Grotzookas, which completely obliterated a large squad of kroot in one round of shooting for me, which was fantastic really. 4 template shots without relying on BS to hit is great.

This led me to thinking about the Kustom Mega Blastas. I usually end up facing Terminators, and that might just be the answer.
Has anyone tried KMB's on their Kans? How did they work for you?

Thanks!
T-

I find them very good for Kans. They don't get hot since the Kan is a walker. The KMB is very good at blowing away termies since it's already instant-killing them and denying their armor save. Major imo. It's also best on Kans due to their better BS. The KMB can also whip other targets, such as Meganobs or Crisis Suits. I have also found that it makes the Kans versatile, able to use powerful attacks both at range and close up.

The land of cotton.

I run a squad of three Kans with KMBs. They do just fine.

Anti-Terminator, anti-light to medium vehicle, and anti-Monstrous Creature duty. They can even do heavy vehicle crumping in a pinch. That S8 shot is an instakill against T4 ICs as well.

With S10 DCCW they are great in Close Combat against most opponents. That Armor 11 makes you invulnerable to most basic troops.

against termies and others with 2+ armour, they're great - and kanz is the only sensible place to put them due to Gets Hot not applying to vehicles.

If you know you won't be facing 2+ armour the rokkits are cheaper and just as effective

Forever alone

Magnetise the different gun arms, so you can choose what's appropriate for the task at hand. Against MEQs, use KMBs always. Aim for Termies and command squads to make your points back quickly.
Against hordes or armies with a poor armour save, I'd go with Grotzookas. You'll mash guardsmen and 'nids with it.
On a side note, it's also a good idea to take KMBs against Nidzilla lists. It's as good as powerfist insurance.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I dunno. I say it's too expensive. You're paying 55 points for an AP2 walker that will hit only half of the time. I rather go with the alternatives (volume/PKs) and give those kans more big shootas.
