So we finished our LGS tourny and it was a good experience for me being a new player. A lot of rules got questioned and we figured out answer, so now, knowledge is power. In total there were 2 CSM, 2 Tau (one had to drop since his models were put together and no army list), 1 Daemons, 1 Black Templar, 1 Orks, 1 Necron. My memories are a lil fuzzy on everything since I was very tired, so there might be a few mistakes on some of the turns...my apologies, most of the info is correct.

Summary of my army:
Shas'o with 2 Bodyguard and 2 Shield Drones, PR and MP with Failsafe Dent. and Positional Relay, Shield Gen
3x Crisis Suits Fusion Blasters and MP, shield gen.
4x 12man FW teams with BK,Marklight and TL
2x 10 Kroot w/5 Hounds
2x Ionheads
1x 2 man Broadside team with 2 shield drones

Round 1: Me vs CSM

His list summary

Daemon Prince
3 10man CSM with Rhinos
1 20man CSM squad
1 Predator with Autocannon and Heavy Bolter
1 Defiler
1 Dread

Mission: KP mission and Dawn of War deployment

Opponent went first and chose to deploy first.

Deployment:

He deployed his Demon Prince one Rhino and the 20 man squad at max range leaving me only 6 inches from the board edge to deploy (we were playing 4x4 tables with this table a desert landscape with a TON of hills counting as difficult terrain). I chose to keep all my unit in reserve first turn with Crisis Suits Deep Striking and Kroot outflanking.

Turn 1:
CSM: 2 Rhinos, Defiler, Predator and Dread walked onto the board. His deployed forces didn't move waiting to see where I was going to come out at.

Tau. I march most of my Forces on the board toward his 20 man squad side, wanting to keep most of them away from the demon Prince. Ion touchdown on 2 flat hills, one center right side, the other center left. Crisis suits came on right side near the 20 man squad as well as the broad sides taking a hill on the far right. Shooting was decent. 3 Wounds on demon prince from the Ion Heads, Closest Rhino was weapon destoryed which immoblized it, and the 20 Man CSM squad shot down to about 16 models.

Turn 2: (or as I like to call it, the bad CSM rolling era)
CSM: I felt bad for laughing during this but nothing could have gone worse for the poor CSM. The Demon Prince moved 12 inches up, but had nothing to charge. The marines in the closest rhino disembarked into terrain and rolled a 1 for movement. so they where no threat, the 20 man squad not wanting to do the same thing moved around a hill to the far right edge. And here is where it got really bad. The Rhinos in the bad went for a 12 inch move thru terrain, both rolled 1's, both immoblized at about 8 inches onto the board. the Predator Tank moved 6 inches foward into terrain, rolled a one and immoblized. The dread and defiler both moved 6 inches forward. Shooting with the defilers cannon scattered off the board, the auto cannon killed 2 FW, not enough to make them leadership check. And this was his last round.

Me: Not really any movement, my kroot failed a +2 reserve rolled....then came the carnage. My broadsides split shot the defiler and the Predator, blowing both up. A rapid fire from a FW squad killed the Demon Prince. The Ionheads shot the 20 man squad to 8 guys, and a Seeker mission immoblized his dread about 40 Inches from my Force. The 20man squad ran for the hills.

We did the top of turn 3 but with all 3 rhinos immoblized (2 of them 40 inches away), the CSM making off the board on round 4, all long range attacks gone, the thought of walking into a static Tau gun line was not appealing. We ended the game with me having 4 KP and him killing only 2 FWs.

Game 2: Hot Tau on Tau action

Another KP mission, but with me still having a bunch of questions about rules and what does and doesn't count as KP I am deciding not to write a report on this one. I ended with a loss of 0 KP to 4 KP. Was an interesting game.

Game 3: Orks

Well it was the final match and with 3 people 2-0 we had to roll off to see who faced who without having the same people fight the same armies. So I faced the 2-0 Orks.

Opponents List and I really have no clue here on ork armies.
2 Trukks one with a warboss and big nobs.
2 20 boyz squad
1 20 rocket boyz squad deep striking with some IC that lets him assualt on deep strike.
1 10 burna boyz
8 biker boyz
2 Killa Kanz
1 Ork Dread
6 Long range Shooter think they were called Loota (ones that roll to see how many shots they get)
Mission: KP (all 3 of my matching being KP mission)
Deployment: Dawn of War

Opponent deploy the 20 boyz at 24 inches as well as the Trukk with warboss. I didn't deploy anything.

Turn 1:
Orks: He moved slowly thru some terrain having to move around a few ruins with his trukks. Bikers Turbo-Boosted onto the scene, with a trukk with burna boyz flanking there right side, 20 boyz . Nothing to shoot so it was to me.

Me:I keep the 2 kroots outflanking and Crisis Team Deep Striking, then moved everything on at the very edge of the board. Shooting saw the biker boyz killed and the Warbosses trukk immonlized, but not far enough, so I in the assualt phase movement I moved the Command Squad out just enough for a template to go off. Took the 20 closest orks down to 12

Turn 2:
Orks:WAAGH!!! The war boss moved out of the trukk and met my command squad, the 12 man orks went after my Ion head. This deep striker didn't make it onto the board, after some checking of the rules about how you position the models. Shooting killed 4 of one of my FW team, but they held. Assualt saw my ion head wrecked, and my command squad caught in a sweeping advanced with one bodyguard left to activate his Failsafe denonater, killing 2 of the nobz with the warboss.

Me: RAPPIIDDD FIRE!!!!!! With the warboss squad and another squad in great range, like 12 inches from 3 of my 4 FW teams and my Crisis Suits came on the field perfectly behind the 2 Killa Kanz and dread. It was time to open up. Rapid fired the 8 remaining to 5 with my 8 man squad and all the others used marker lights on the Warboss. Using 2 marker light from the first to rapid fire, I manged to have 22 hits and 19 wounds on the warboss squad killing them all with the last squad firing. the broadside didn't have line of sight on anything, but the Crisis Suits did very well, killing both the killer kanz and the dread with split shot. Assualt was the 8 man unit charging the 5 remaining orks. After it was done, there was 1 ork and 4 FW left, combat continued.

Turn 3:
Orks Rokkitz boyz dropped again but this time it moved into terrain killing 3, the did manage to get within charging distance to a 12 man FW team. The burna boyz deployed to another 12 man team. Shooting was that good for the orks, lootas had 3 hits out of 6 on crisis suits but all 1's on the wound rolls. The burnas had 15 hits on the FW but only 5 kills and they passed Ld check. The rockkit boyz charged the FW and as we were getting ready to see what happened the 10 min warning was called. So it came down to the burnas needing a 6 to assualt the FW squad, i conceded that the rockkit boyz would have destoryed the FW team and we saw the FW with the last ork win in assualt (I know, tau winning assualt against orks!). Burnas rolled a 5, about 1/2 inch too short. So he conceded the game to me. Me with 6 KP him with 3.

Final Standing showed that the Daemons had taken a clean sweep finishing 3-0, Black Templar taking 2nd with 2-0-1, My Tau and Orks tied for 3rd with 2-1. The bottom 3, 2 CSM and Necron were in a three-way battle for a prize, but they tied up with 2 KP each.Great time was had by all.
