Thanks! i also think that the coat is a little bit to narrow in the sides and would need some bulking out.

Sorry, I dont like him.

A green stuff cloak is one thing, doing a greatcoat right requires most of the skills of a professional sculptor.

Its the sort of job I would have outsourced to a pro.

What he said.

I like it myself, I agree that it's not exactly Jes Goodwin, but I like it and it's good that you tried. Keep it up!

As for CC, I'd say you should roll out the cloak with a pasta-maker (really useful) and then apply it so that it sticks out a lot more. If you really want advice, I can email you some. Email me at Captain.gordino@gmail.com, and I'll send you some good tips and such. Same goes for anyone else, although I can't claim to have the skill of the GW team myself...

Cap'n Gordino's instant grammar guide:
"This is TOO expensive." "I'm going TO the store, TO get some stuff."
"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."

Nice conversion on the model itself and the grat coat looks a lot better than the one I did.

Also: whining about the lack of posts in the topic name? Seriously?

Hi,

The jacket needs more work - its too flat add some folds - around the arms and shoulders. Add some long rolls to the length.

Add details such as pockets, suggestion of detail under the jacket.

definitely add a belt - needs some more orky stuff though.

Whats happening with the head?

Like the gun though!

Cheers

Not a big fan, but I think you can fix it up and still make it into a good model. More detail work on the coat would help its looks. Such as folds in the back along the ground.

Put folds into it to make it look like it is swaying in the direction he is moving. Or it is just swaying in the wind.

Right now it is very static and looks pretty skin tight to him.

I have to second that it doesnt look quite right; it looks like you have strapped a banner or some sort of cape on his back. I have no specific advice, but when I sculpt something, or try to paint something intricate, I draw it first, because if you can draw something, chances are you can sculpt it. (Dont know how true that is, but it's what Ive been told) Also it helps alot to look to see what youll be sculpting rather than to do it from a memory of it. For instance, you could search images on google of trench coats, or look at other minis you have (or search them on the internet) and see how the ripple effect of the coat is done effectively. It will help you get the results you want.

I like the concept you've got here.
However,as others have pointed out, your bosses great coat does need a bit of work.
I have found that the easiest way to make folds in material using GS is to roll your bits of GS into "snakes" of various thickness, then starting on the back of your bosses coat start at the waist line and attach a "snake" verticly, using a sculpting tool work the GS into a sort of pyrimid shape contoring it slightly to begin a ripple effect.
Then its just a matter of repeating the process insuring your GS "snakes" vary in thickness.
As for the wound on your bosses face, you might add a small scar or two (using a similiar "snake" process) just to break up the flat effect it now has.
Again,I like what your going for here.
