It appears that my ISP has decided to terminate my hosting account, with no notice I might add, and so Tabletop Gaming News is currently inaccessible and will be for a few days at an absolute minimum.

I need to find a new ISP and I need to find a new business model as the site has grown well past the hosting solutions that I currently am/was using and needs to be put either on a dedicated server or on a high demand hosting package.

If anyone needs to get in touch with me regarding the site they can do so at pixelgeek at gmail dot com.

If you could please help spread the word around that the site will be coming back into operation I would appreciate it.

This makes me sad, as I check TGN at least twice a day. I hope you get it back up soon.

If you contact Dagorlad at One-ring.co.uk (I know he also is an avid reader of TGN) he might have some suggestions. His useful advice helped sort out TLA when it was having bandwidth issues.

I know exactly what I need to do. The issue is managing to afford it.

I wasn't going over my bandwidth caps. My ISP has caps that are so high that six or seven sites like TGN wouldn't go over them.

What got me booted was that I was basically taking over the server resources.

I spent a lot of time making sure that TGN ran smoothly and the latest redesign was in part to further reduce the load that the site made on the server but ultimately I was still taking too much of their resources and they booted me

What gets me really quite POed is that they did this with no warning so the only way I get notice is that I check my mail and I get server errors.

Outgrowing a shared package is in some ways good news.

You have proof of expansion, your site is starting to ROCK!

It just means its time to up the revenue effort to pay enhanced VPS or even Dedi server fees.

As for the host just pulling the plug that happens too, they have max connection and query limits. Usually its an automated system. Once you breach the threshold you're flagged and suspended.

I hope that everything gets straightened out. I really like TGN. I usually check it once a day to see if there is any cool new miniatures coming out.

Just an update (and please feel free to pass this along)
