Short story I had in mind, but got some more ideas now. I just wanted to write out a human which had incredible psychic powers and wasn't a Marine or a Star God or anything else which you come across often.

I've got some plans for this and a lot of plots, hopefully I can keep it up as its its a bit quiet at the moment. So, here's chapter 1 of The Psyker of God.

The Psyker of God - chapter 1

The small planet of Julopeos is on the northern fringes of the Imperium of man’s boundaries. It lies not far from the Maelstrom and the planet of Baal, home to the Blood Angels Adeptus Astartes chapter. The planet is a little larger than Terra’s own moon and is broken into six small continents. Each continent is ruled by a governor, the particular continent of Julopeoans West is currently in revolt as governor Terrakis has outlawed any form of psykers and all found guilty are imprisoned, this is due to a rebel psyker roaming the land known as the Psyker of God. The Psyker of God is rumoured to be an alpha class psyker, the most powerful class of psyker and has evaded capture so far. The Space Marines Blood Angels have been requested to the planet to support the revolt and track down the Psyker of God and cease the protesters leader.

The prison of Julopeaons West hosted mainly arrested psykers along with common criminals. Any powerful and rebel psykers had been put in special holding cells which had a “psychic block” containment on the cell which nullified any of there powers. Many families of the psykers had gathered at the prison gates and staged a protest for several weeks. The local PDF force had been drawn in and setup a perimeter around the main gates in defence of the prison, but also to protect those entering and exiting the site. The PDF had been on normal quiet duty so far, however on this cold dark night things were going to change.

The temperature was about low, a sheen of glittering frost had appeared on the LeMan Russ battle tank covering its dark brown and green camo paint job as private Fielding entered into the small barrack camp.

“This is bs. We’ve been here for weeks and nothing is going on, just a harmless bunch out there” he muttered to others.

The inside was warm compared to outside with a glows of lights scattered through out the quickly erected bunker which they had made several weeks ago. Other troopers played card games with each other, or listened to radio broadcasts while two stood on guard watching through the narrow slits in the concrete bunker.

Outside the bunker a tall broad shadowy figure had heard the comments of the PDF troopers, despite being in the thick loud crowd. The stranger was in fact a psyker and his mission tonight was to free those imprisoned.

The stranger moved his way through the crowd quietly, he was just over six foot tall with broad shoulders. He had dark trousers on with a long dark brown coat with dark blue clothing underneath. He had a shaven head and blue eyes and pale skin with a slight facial hair. He soon made his way clear of the crowd and spotted his targets, one was a group of PDF troops on a gun nest sitting atop of the bunker, in front of the main gates the LeMan Russ was standing, with either side two walls of sand bags with several troops behind them was placed. Finally on the other side was another gun nest with camo netting over head and ammo stores behind it.

“Hold it civilian” said a PDF trooper raising his hand to stop the stranger.

“Who are you and show me some clearance or you will have step back”

The stranger looked the PDF trooper square in the eyes, his own eyes turning black as night as his skin turned to a corpse grey and strong blue veins appeared across his skin.

“I am the Psyker of God, shoot the ammo stored behind the gun nest” commanded the stranger as he revealed his identity.

The PDF trooper turned like a loyal puppy and fired several bursts from his lasrifle into the ammo store, it exploded in a rein of fire and sending the troopers from the gun nest flying into the air.

The PDF troop under the command of the Psyker of God was sent flying through the air by the psychic will of the Psyker of God, his frail body smashing against the massive prison main doors. The Psyker then rose in the air, and floated towards the PDF troops taking cover behind the sand bags as las fire seemed to dissipate before him. Arcs of bright blue lightning fired from the Psykers body, frying all before him in his path.

The gun nest on top of the bunker had the Psyker of God in their target, along with the troops within the bunker who had been blasting las fire from the entrance and gun slits as the crowd had fled the scene. Though before the troopers holding the gun nest could fire a dark coloured individual appeared in dark clothing, he smiled with bright white teeth and with a strong back hand he sent the gun nest flying through the air. Even though he was normal human size the gun nest and the troopers were sent flying several hundred meters via his psychic power as if swatted by a giant Tyranid Carnifex. The dark skinned psyker then pounded onto the ferrocrete roof of the bunker, though he never made contact, the centre ceiling area collapsed in. Several confused PDF troops looked up from the rubble before they turned their fire on each other and gunned each other down.

As the dark skinned psyker roared with laughter the LeMan Russ turret rotated and targeted him, though before it could fire a giant rampaging Ogryn like mutant rampaged like a wild juggernaut of Khorne through the fleeing crowds, it charged the tank and with a massive display of strength it ripped the turret clean off by clasping both his hands around the barrel. Then using the turret like a hammer pounded the battle tank into a pile of twisted steel.

The Ogryn stood proud knowing the damage it had caused. It was wearing some tatty remains of Imperial Guard uniform, but this Ogryn appeared to be bigger and stronger, perhaps it displayed some psychic talent.

The final human psyker made her appearance, a beautiful feminine slender tanned woman. She wore a long free flowing skirt with a short top with her long black hair flowing down her back. She reached the Psyker of God and stroked her hand down his right arm.

“The door if you please Meserie” requested the Psyker of God.

“Certainly Marcus” she replied.

Merserie thrusted both arms forward the giant prison doors buckled and splintered before flying off the hinges and into the main prison court yard.

“Ogyrn, secure a path for us into the prison grounds” commanded Marcus, the Psyker of God.

The nameless Ogryn strode forward; it dropped the turret like hammer and picked up the remains of the LeMan Russ like a child’s toy and threw it clearly right across the courtyard and smashing through the prisons wall on the upper levels. The Ogryn then picked up its own made hammer and ran through the courtyard like an unstoppable Rhino APC, smashing all in his way guards, PDF and vehicles aside with the turret hammer.

Inside the prison all threats to the rebel psykers had been eliminated by either the Ogryn or freed prisoners, though most of the captive psykers remained in there cells. The Psyker of God stood centre in the prison floor in front of all the cells which held the psykers.

“Here me all psykers within these walls, I am the Psyker of God and I come hear to set you free. I release you all if you join my cause and defend our rights to be free”

A few brief moments of silence past, each psyker within the prison had communicated with Marcus on a psychic level only he and the other psykers could hear. Marcus stood in concentration as once again his skin changed to corpse grey, his eyes turned to the colour of night itself and dark blue veins appeared on his skin. The cells of the psykers begun to open as his alpha psyker powers worked his wishes. Once all the cells were open the captive psykers freed, Marcus collapsed in an exhausted heap on the floor. Merserie and the dark skinned psyker rushed to his side and left him to his feet.

“Jashino, Merserie, you are the only two I trust” he whispered through his weakened voice.

The rebel psykers soon fled among the panic and battle between the remaining defending forces. The Psyker of God used his remaining energy to make the appearance of him, the other two psykers and Ogryn appear like normal humans who were protesting outside the grounds as they slipped away effortlessly.
