I've got two small scout units and I had the idea of perhaps making a scout force, so come up with a possible list below. The list gives plenty of scouts, strong elite and good HQ choice.

HQ

Captain w/ terminator armour & power weapon

Elite

5 x Terminators - heavy flamer

Troops

10 x Scouts w/ sgt Telion - all with sniper rifles one with heavy bolter

10 x Scouts - all with shotguns - sgt w/ bolt pistol & ccw

10 x Scouts - all with bolters - sgt w/ bolt pistol & ccw

10 x Scouts - all with bolt pistols & ccw - sgt w/ bolt pistol & power weapon

Now I was thinking of perhaps dropping the terminators and terminator captain as they're too expensive. I may then get perhaps a normal captain with just a power weapon upgrade or another hq and either have 5 sternguard, and add in some scouts on bikes for fast attack. I could also have 5 assault marines with the captain who also has a jump pack.

Thing with the terminators and terminator captain they're 300 + points, while a captain with normal marine troops, possibly sternguard or assault is pretty decent. I s'pose I could give the captain a bike and throw him in with the scout bikers and give them ccw weapons. Choices choices.

I'd go the other route. Drop one Scout squad since full Scout squads can be combat squaded giving you 6 scoring units if necessary. The points saved can be spent to beef up the Termie squad for more staying power and greater impact.
