Waaghboss

10 Nobz + Painboy (4+ armor save, 5+ inv save)
15 Lootas
Boyz
Second mission in rulebook and second deployment scenario (two objectives, quarters, 12'' away from the centre).
Army deployment: (X: objective)
see below
First turn: Orks.
Warboss Johann commanded the Nobz to quickly approach the enemy. The Boyz walked behind the Nobz while one Boyz mob was left behind possible to secure some objective. He ordered the Big Mek and the Lootas to take on the Termies. The Lootas hit hard and one Termie fell into the dust. However, the Mek had some trouble with his self-designed weapon (rolled double 2) so that he targeted his own mob. A large blast of strength 4 killed several Lootas. Ouch!
First turn: EC.
The Emperor's Children commanded by DP Karl reacted immediately to the advance of the Orks. The Rhinos moved at full speed (12'') NE bound to approach the Nobz mobs. The DPs positioned partly behind the Rhinos lashing the closest Nobz mob and somehow this mob moved into the wrong direction (backwards). Stupid Orks. Sonic blasters and twin bolters targeted the Warboss' Nobz but no one fell, while the Obliterators took the Lootas under fire via plasma cannons decimating them further.
Second turn: Orks.
Warboss Johann called out the Waagh so that his Nobz mob came close to the first Rhino. However, not close enough to charge it. At the same time, the unlucky Big Mek and his remaining Lootas again targeted the Termies. This time, the Mek disappeared somehow and suddenly emerged among the Termies (rolled double 5). The Termies made short work killing the Mek.
Second turn: EC.
Karl ordered the Rhinos to drive up. The Noise Marines disembarked and took the Nobz under fire (bolters and doom sirens). At the same time, the Obliterators shot the remaining Lootas to death, while the Termies advanced towards the Orks' mission objective. The shooty NM squad stayed back for securing the own objective.
Third turn: Orks.
Johann knew that his Ork army was in trouble, Big Mek and Lootas killed, several Nobz dead. He seized the moment to charge one of the DPs. The melee was bloody but the DP held the ground with one wound left.
Third turn: EC.
Karl ordered one empty Rhino to advance towards the Orks' mission objective. Karl advancing behind the Rhino lashed the Boyz securing the objective. It seemed that somehow the Boyz were fleeing from the battle, but they didn't. Stupid Orks. The NM squads (from the Rhinos) decimated the Nobz mob (without Warboss) and were able to charge it, while the Termies advanced towards the Orks' objective. The Warboss knew that the end of his army was near and so he surrendered.
Summary: Johann had two bad rolls with the Big Mek's nasty Orkish weapon. He had another bad roll so that at turn 2, the Nobz were not able to charge the Rhino.
The EC army was more lucky loosing only one model (Termie) during the battle; for the record: one bad roll for casting the lash.
By the way, my first game vs. Erik's Orks (2000 pts) ended similarly. No good time for Orks vs. Noise Marines. Cheers! And death to the false Emperor!
