Hello all,

My fiance wants to purchase a Christmas gift that is a contraption that is a magnifier/light source to help me when I'm painting . Does anyone have any recommendations for good lights? Any brands? Where did you get them? How helpful were they? I'm sure it will be a lot easier on my eyes.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

My Grandmother had something like this that she did her sewing crafts with, I have thought for a few years that this would be a good thing to have,especialy since after 10 years of painting my eyes are begining to protest.

I use something like this....Look like a freek when people are around but prefer it
Then use a standard desk lamp with natural light bulb.

I use an Ott light, they have great natural light, but for magnification I use a pair of drug store bought reading classes. They magnify but let you keep a sense of depth perception that you loose when you look through a single magnifying lense. I picked the 3x mgnification pair. They work like a charm.
